Hello steemians,
Thanks to professor @sapwood for the exclusive lecture on Steem and Tron, I’m here with my assignment post.

1) What is PoB? What does curation mean to you in Steem Blockchain? What are the benefits of building SP? How do you explain self-upvote as a good or bad social behavior & why? Explore Coinmarketcap.com to indicate rank, STEEM price, and coinmarketcap of STEEM(screenshot required)? What are the different tokens do you earn by socializing in Steem Blockchain?

PoB

‘Proof of Brain’ simply put (PoB) is the brilliant insight and ideas of a person into creating a quality and unique content for people on the social media blockchain. As it is the intuitive decisions of communities to reward authors according to the quality of their content which is termed as the proof of Brain (PoB) of the author.

Curation rewards are distributed to authors according to Steem power (SP ) also called the influence power of the users ,This is a mechanism that allows users to independently upvote or downvote an author’s post from the reward pool depending on the Proof of Brain of the author. Users with higher Steem power have more influence to upvote or downvote an author’s post.

As a decentralized blockchain , users independently decide on good / bad content by upvoting or downvoting . As every user’s decision is empowered on the social media blockchain and it is based on the Steem power of the Users.

Curation on Steem Blockchain

Curation involves so much on the social media blockchain (steem) which are as follows :

  • Reviewing a content on Originality and Uniqueness to avoid Plagiarized content.
  • Determining whether a content has a good impact on the Steem blockchain and suggesting ways add value to the content if necessary.
  • Disregarding poor and plaigiarized content and creating awareness of the community the post is made.
  • Rewarding a content according the proof of Brain of the user by upvoting the post with your influence/Steem power .
  • Resteeming and sharing a quality content to give it exposure so that it can get more votes from people.

Benefits of Building Steem Power(SP)

There are generally many benefits that comes with building one’s Steem power which includes:

  • Exposure: As Steem power represents the amount of influence one has on the Steem platform, New users and other people on the Steem platform always look out for people high Steem power to follow.

  • Elgibility to enroll into the steemit Crypto Academy: The current requirements to enroll into the beginner level of the Steemit Crypto Academy includes having a Steem Power of 125 and a reputation of 50, so building Steem power makes you eligible to participate in the steemit crypto academy.

  • Increase of vote influence: People with higher Steem power have more vote value in terms of rewarding a content.almost every author always wants people with high Steem power to vote them as their vote has value.

  • increase in rewards: People with high Steem power receive curation rewards for just upvoting quality content , so people who power up always get more reward in return from the reward pool.

Self upvote as a good or bad behavior

Though Steem is a decentralized blockchain and they’re no regulations restricting people from upvoting their own post , I think Self upvote is a bad behavior. As were supposed to upvote post according to Proof of Brain or quality of contents from authors, self upvote will let me ignore whether my post is good or bad. We get the impression that our posts are quality contents when others upvote them. Also we consume our voting power when we upvote our post and this makes us unable to vote on other’s post. So they can’t know what we think of their posts .

the various tokens earned from socializing in Steem blockchain

The various Tokens that authors and curators receive after a post pays out after 7 days include ; Steem, Steem dollars (SBD) and Steem Power (SP).

Authors usually receive rewards according to debt ratio( the ratio of SBD market cap to that of STEEM )
If the ratio of SBD market cap to Steem market cap is below 9% the rewards of the authors will be in the form of SBD+SP or the authors will receive STEEM +SP if the debt ratio is above 10% or SBD +STEEM+SP If the debt ratio is between 9% to 10%.
authors also receive one Tronx (TRX) per one Steem Power (SP) in addition to the other rewards.
