This is the summary for the crypto academy class week three, and in this post, general thoughts, guidance, and feedback on previously submitted tasks/homework for week three by students.
I must confess that the steemit crypto academy is really a citadel of learning which encompasses cryptocurrency, blockchain learning, as well as improving writing skills. Going forward, if you missed the Steemit Crypto Academy class for week three, then you should read The Steemit Crypto Academy Week 3: All You Need to Know About Bitcoin Network.
My general Thoughts
Compared to the previous weeks, I must say that students have improved in their writing. It is no doubt that a lot of people are here to learn, and we are here to help them learn and grow. Thanks to the steemit crypto academy, a lot of students have been able to improve their writing skills as well as their knowledge about the blockchain.
Observation
In the third week of the crypto academy class, a lot of observations were made and I will love to outline them;
Plagiarism and Spam
Although there's been a reduction in the number of spam posts and plagiarized content in the academy yet, there are still a few people who still write plagiarized content, and people who spam the academy with irrelevant posts. Building a good SEO for steemit starts with writing original content.
Lack of Interaction with other Students
The aim of the academy is not to have people write several home task and get rewards for them, it is a place to learn from both the professors and the students alike, and lack of interaction between students is not healthy for the academy. Students should be able to read through other students' posts and leave comments which would increase interaction in the academy.
Short Post and Poor Writing Skills
I noticed that so many users still write short posts, but then, a short post won't give enough information about whatever task being asked to participate in. A minimum of 300 words is expected to get valid attention on the steemit crypto academy assignment.
Another thing that needs improvement is the use of English and the grammatical construction of students in posts. Writing a poorly constructed post isn't good for your readers as they would find it hard to comprehend the information being passed across.
Guidiance/Reation to the Observations
Plagiarism and Spam
Plagiarism and spam are completely unacceptable, so I will advise that people who copy-paste discontinue such acts and start to create original and quality content. Spamming is usually a way to either share phishing links or to game the reward system. Users who spam should be reported to @steemcurator01 and @steemcurator02.
Lack of Interaction with other Students
In other to improve interaction amongst students, every student should make a comment on 5 posts minimum daily and follow up on the replies on the comment.
Short Post and Poor Writing Skills
Posts should be a minimum of 300 words in other to get attention from the professors and the curators. Posts below 300 words would be classified as ineligible.
In other to improve the use of English and grammatical structure, Grammarly can be used to check posts during and after writing.
Three Interesting Homework Posts You should Checkout
Every student created an impressive post this week but then, I have to recognize three posts that caught my attention.
Difference Between Legacy and SegWit Network and Which is my Choice [Professor @gbenga] - @ajewa
The Bitcoin wallet is a combination of alphanumerics within 26 and 35 characters and it doesn't matter if it is a Legacy network, Native or Nested SegWit, the important thing is that they all transact on the same blockchain but might not be able to transact between wallets on a different blockchain. - @ajewa
Explaining The Bitcoin blockchain, the Legacy Bitcoin Network, Nested Bitcoin Network, and Native Network showed how well the student understands the topic. The post wasn't plagiarized and was properly organized.
Segwit ensures that the digital signature is separated from the rest of the block. With this separation, the digital signature will have no influence over the size of the block, the time of the execution of transactions, and the validation of the transaction.
Explaining extensively how Segwit came into being and its importance on the Bitcoin blockchain. A post well organized and properly-referenced.
Steemit Crypto Academy, Week 3 Homework Task by @gbenga, Segwit/Legacy Bitcoin Network. - @oluwwatobiloba
Since Segwit serves as an improved method I will definitely prefer it to legacy bitcoin network, I just have this mind-set that whenever there is an improved form of something it means the previous one had to be worked upon, I also figured out that there is a lower charged transaction fee with Segwit and this is because of the increased capacity that it has to store more transactions. - @oluwatobiloba
Plagiarism free, properly organized, and a well-structured post explaining the Bitcoin Blockchain and how Segwit has changed the scalability of the Bitcoin Network.
Final Note
I hope to see improvement from students and to see a better post this week. Finally, this week, I will be focusing on plagiarized posts so I will encourage original content. The week 4 class is available and I will be expecting to see you there
