The lesson explains extensively, the concept of air drops and how they work including their scope.

I am @kelechisamuel and this is my homework post for @wahyunahrul

QUESTION 1: What do you think about Airdrop in cryptocurrency?

Firstly, we see Air drops to be a system where a block chain disemburses crypto currencies to people for free once they participate in the event required of them and following all the rules adequately. In this pattern of crypto asset gaining, investing of funds are not needed but just actions performed.

Basically, to the average man, the airdrop would seem a creepy idea, since no one would believe that any block chain would just give away coins for mere logins or minor actions but I think Airdrop is a good idea since the community on its own gains prominence by its advertisement of the tokens and encouragement of others to support and join the project even while the followers of the project gain too

QUESTION 2: How can we know about an Airdrop event so that we can participate?

In this part we would be discussing ways to find about about airdrops so as to participate in them and it is :

  • Firstly, we understand the motive behind airdrops and understand that airdrops are for meant for advertising of a blockchain project and seeking quality investors.

  • Therefore we can deduce, that an airdrop would always be publicized but the major point is, being in touch with the news providers since most times participator numbers, are limited
Therefore, we could participate in airdrops by, following blockchain projects on social media platforms and other electronic news and receiving instant news from there once there are airdrop updates. We can also follow the hashtag ie #airdrop on different medias to keep us in news of when they are available

QUESTION 3:Where are Airdrop events often held?

  • Airdrop events are often held, via updates on electronic media blockchain accounts. We understand that people who participate in airdrop events find them via their links ie posts on different media accounts eg Facebook, Twitter, etc..and airdrop platform and social media channels that follow the airdrops and post them there after

  • They can also be seen when we go to good crypto exchange platforms and search up from them like we see in the picture below of Coinbase platform of going on airdrops and this place where we can partake.

QUESTION 4: Are all Airdrop events free from scams? Otherwise, how can we avoid the scam?

Airdrops could be very beneficial and nice but they are not all free from scams ie in the presence of airdrops that pay off, some could be malicious plans by hackers to invade privacy or other wrong activities.

One of the ways too to avoid the airdrop scams too include :

  • Not joining or participating in Airdrop projects that ask for unrelated or far fetched data :
Some airdrop scams seek to get data of delicate functions to intrude into user's privacy and when a partaker of the airdrop notices such information request he should leave such platform

  • Appropriate research on the project :
Airdrop partakers should also research appropriately on the airdrop websites and making sure it's a verified and legitimate place especially one that has a white paper and a connected social media account that is verified also

  • Not giving out private OTPs or keys :
These airdrop participants should learn not to give out sensitive information like an OTP sent or a private key as it could be used to access the users wallet

QUESTION 5: Have you ever participated in a cryptocurrency Airdrop event? If so, then explain. Meanwhile, if you have never participated but have heard of the Airdrop event, then explain it. (Show proof with screenshot)

I have participated in an airdrop event though it wasn't all of a successful one and it was about a doge coin airdrop

  • My friend sent the link and upon opening it, it was about the doge giveaway stating that the participants must get at least 0.1 worth of BNB so it gave a link for buyin the BNB and getting the free doge

  • It then asked to connect to a trust wallet or do a Scan connect Nd I went for the trust wallet and pressed connect

  • It then brought up a link and asked to approve the farming of the coins

  • Finally it showed a background that showed its connect address and no sugned transactions with no airdrops, I just had to leave the background

QUESTION 6:Give and explain an example of an Airdrop event that has passed and the airdrop was successful. Then give one more example that has been proven to be a fraud. (It is not allowed to take the example that has been taken in question number 5).

I have participated in an airdrop event that seemed successful and this happened sometime ago, when a friend sent a link that I should paste as a contract address and other values I should fill in to the trust wallet so

  • It was just in my inbox so I logged into my trust wallet and went to the right top and touched on the icon there for tokens

  • The next step was how I went to the tokens section until the last place and clicked the add custom token button

  • I afterwards filled in the contract address, decimal, name and symbol

  • After wards I saw a contract page showing my receipt of the tokens yet to be introduced.

6b.) We can see also an example of an air drop that was finally proven to be fraud, in the below link as it was sent by a friend to be a free coin airdrop but finally it was seen to be a telegram scam just meant to join a particular group

  • After loading the link it asked to join with the telegram and I accepted

  • It finally loaded into an inbox, where I was asked to subscribe to several telegram groups which I did and they said to click joined,
Even after I clicked to join, nothing came in and they didn't even ask for a wallet to pay into

QUESTION 7: Look for an example of ongoing Airdrop events, make an analysis that proves that the Airdrop of your choice is good. (Screenshot required).

We see an ongoing airdrop right now like that of EDOGE airdrop which I saw on the CoinBase platform and I verified it to be good one on seeing the several involvements of Elon Musk in the Doge blockchain and so had earlier guessed him getting a new token at the end and decided to maximize the opportunity having verifiedit on several other platforms

QUESTION 8: Explain the steps to participate in the Airdrop of your choice. (Screenshot required).

There are several steps involved in taking part in the EDOGE airdrop firstly,

  • Firstly we log in to the Coin Base Platform and go through their airdrop lists on the airdrop list here, I chose EDOGE

  • After choosing doge, the next platform shows the several steps involved in participating in the airdrop including :following Twitter account, reposting etc..

  • We go to the telegram group chat using the link and join it and go to Twitter too to follow in the same way ie Sharing the post

  • The final page shows our conclusion of the airdrop and asks, to wait that we will be notified if the airdrop became ours on a later date
