We all know that the world is getting advanced in the world of technology, there by creating new inventory to be in place, meanwhile the technology has reach to the extent of virtual intelligence, virtual reality, and also in the as aspect of virtual environment which has expose the metaverse to our hood, which actually allow us through a virtual means to have an access and interaction with the virtual world.
Therefore the origin of the metaverse was initiated by Neal Stephenson a well known science fiction novel (snow Crash), which base on the digitalized world over the analog world. hence the name metaverse was gotten from two verse words to get the name metaverse, the "Meta" is known to be "beyound" while that of the "verse" is refered as the universe, mean while this concept is concern about the transition of the universe beyound the real physical world we see and touch around it. Hence the transition are free from the spiritual domain.
Hence the metaverse is viewed as an endless realm which are internally linked and connected as one, where by different community can come togeter, play and work virtually.
The metaverse is the fort coming technology which has full access with the help of the technology which transcend the current mode of technology operation to the next level and to the new users (Next generations), hence this gives the prevelege to interact with one another with the software in 3-demention (3D), also this came to place with the combination of the digital reality and virtual interaction coming together to play as one.
Yes, according to the first verse of the question I strongly believe that the metaverse is the future technology since the existence of the world we have being experiencing advancement in mode of living , actecture, socially, technically and in all ramifications we we are advancing, therefore Metaverse is yet to take charge as the expected technology of the world which is the next level of technology of the universe.

Base on the current happening, the well know social media to start with has show the world the possibility of the future technology known as the Metaverse, where by there name as "Facebook" was change and as the rebrand and preparation of the future of the media on the metamask.
As of October the giant of social media "Facebook" changes there company name to the future "meta" meaning beyound along side adopting the metaverse logo, which actually means that the social media are getting prepared to advance to the next generation of technology.
Therefore facebook as a media is not the only company rebranding toward the metaverse, also some company name Microsoft and chipmaker and Roblox the software giant is as well rebranding towards the future technology known as the metaverse.
Which show that we are getting virtually incline gradually.
To explain this, It can be viewed and seen that new platforms operating in the boundary of blockchain technology make use of the non fungible token (NFT), Hence the metaverse can't do without the combination and assistant of the blockchain based on storage of datas and assets which operates in decentralized form.
Meanwhile since the node is applicable on the blockchain technology the metaverse are spread across all the individual node. Hence the blockchain metaverse shows the proof of the operation in the digital world.
Another reason over the compatibility of the Blockchain and the Metaverse is that, based on the NFT has shown the real working of the two side based on gaming, Hence the NFT games deals with the virtual sensor which collaborate with the blockchain technology in line to virtual buying and selling of weapons, and as well virtual battling
Lastly the platform known as the new Metaverse are powered and sponsored by the blockchain technology which is founded with cryptocurrency in order to support the nature of it's decentralisation, there by creating a new form of decentralisation which is monetized within the blockchain.
Hence all this makes it compatible with the the technology pairs.
