Greetings to you all fellow steemians and welcome once again to the first week of this season's engagement contest in the crypto academy community. This is indeed a long-awaited season that has finally come and just like usual, we have a very interesting topic this week which is called the Metaverse.

Metaverse is a new technology which has been trending ever since Facebook change their name to Meta. The technology has been in existence before this time but it got more famous immediately after this announcement was made by the owner of Facebook. Everyone started making findings to understand what the word is all about. Metaverse is a more brief term is the transition from a 2D to a 3D display. This is a process where individuals can perform all actions which they normally do in real life in the virtual world.

The above statement may sound a bit crazy but we have seen how far technology has impacted our lives over the years and hence this can be possible as well. Making a call both audio and video from one country to the other is caused by an advancement in technology which means there are still more possibilities that have not yet been exploited.

Metaverse is a new and upcoming technology that people will have to replicate themselves in the virtual world and this image of theirs is called an avatar. Whatever you are supposed to do in the real world can be done too in the virtual world such as attending conferences, lectures, shopping etc. Everything at all that you may think of in the real world you can also do in the virtual world. You can go as far as measuring cloth before you can physically purchase it if it fits you.

Currently, the virtual headset is what ushers us into the virtual world. The first day I wore the virtual headset, I saw a different world completely and then the struggle for survival also because I came into a scene where I have to fight and also protect myself. After a lot of struggle, it was as if I'm about to be killed in a real life so I have to remove the headset and only then did I realise that it was in the virtual world. Everything looks so real.

So the Metaverse is a form of technology in which every real-life activity can be done in the virtual world with our presence represented by our avatar. Metaverse technology is spreading faster daily because a lot of projects in the world today are seeking how to move from 2D display to 3D display. Facebook has made a serious move in that regard which if finally utilised will keep the entire world in the tech since a lot of people in the world use this application.

The Metaverse technology aimed to bridge the gap between people in every space of life. It aims to keep people more closely connected as if they are physically present in the given environment in which they see themself. Cases like meetings, shopping etc are a major reason why the Metaverse is displayed because it will reduce the rate at which people travel up and down knowing full well that they can be completely represented by their avatar while they stay in the comfort of their houses.

The answer to this question is no. What we are seeing right now is an introduction to the technology which is giving us an insight into what the main thing will look like if we finally deployed. More also, a lot of people are unaware of the technology because it is still under development and once it is completely deployed everyone should be aware of it and also use it as well.

There are many technologies which can be utilized to achieve security, ownership and others in the Metaverse among which include the following listed below;-

Virtual reality (VR) is an environment that is generated by the computer with all things we see in real life present in the environment and it will look as if it is a real-world environment. This environment is always accessible via the virtual reality headset. With this, a person will be able to see himself in the virtual world where he can perform some actions like buying goods and owning themes well.

Transactions across all peer-to-peer networks are usual save in a distributed ledger which we call the blockchain. Since the Metaverse allows every form of activity including shopping, it means there must be a way to validate a transaction and the surest way is via blockchain technology because of the attributes it has which include its immutability. Security of Metaverse can be completely certain with the presence of blockchain technology.

In terms of artificial intelligence in the Metaverse, we can also say that this is an important aspect of the technology because AI include the internet of things (IoT), machine learning (ML) etc. There are some activities in the virtual world which ought to be automated and also with the daily routine of individuals in the virtual world, their character should be understood to know exactly their usual activities. This will go a long way in improving Metaverse.

Many gamification developments look like the Metaverse but for the sake of this entry today I will be looking into two basic ones which are more popular I.e the Axie Infinity and the Decentraland. I will be explaining each of them one after the other in the paragraph below.

One of the gamification developments that look like the Metaverse is the Axie Infinity. This is a blockchain game developed in the ethereum blockchain where players of this game buy cuties I.e Axies which represent them in the virtual world and then battle with others to win a price in form of cryptocurrency which can be exchanged into physical cash in any of the exchanges markets. The crypto asset earn while playing this game is known as SLP.

Another gamification development which is like the Metaverse is the Decentraland. This is a 3D virtual world where people can carry out activities such as buying and selling d, rental Estate etc. This game uses the MANA token for its transaction I.e buying plots of land in the virtual world is done using this token and this token is one of the ethereum based tokens which can be traded also on any exchange platform to get real money.

1- One of the major advantages of Metaverse technology is to bring people closer to each other and remove the obstacle of distance.

2- Improvement of every aspect of our lives such as social media which uses the 2D display. This technology removes every form of limitation which we ought to have in the real world.

3- Easy learning and business actions. The Metaverse will help business to be carried out efficiently and effectively since you are going to see the person who you are dealing with in the virtual world and the time to execute any transaction will also reduce drastically.

4- Our economy will raise within a very short period because all the projects that are being accepted and adopted the use of the tech have been seen as standing as equals. This is because people like making discoveries and welcoming new ideas.

1- One of the cons of the Metaverse is that we may easily lose our value and culture because many people will want to forget the real world to only focus on the virtual world.

2- The cost of running the project will be a major setback of the Metaverse technology. We are looking at a 3D display which will not be possible in some small devices and for that reason, a more powerful device may be needed to run the project.

3- The Metaverse will also need very speedy internet to be able to work perfectly which will be another setback in most countries. The only places that can run or adopt this project may be countries with sufficient internet assets.

I'm a very strong fan of technology and from the advancement, I have seen in technology within the shortest possible time, I have a strong belief that the future of Metaverse will sure be brighter. It is possible with the time that everyone will embrace technology the moment they can make suitable ways where devices can easily embrace and adopt it without any issues. Facebook is one application that is currently working hard to bring complete use and am certain that it won't be long for its manifestation to be seen.

The metaverse is the future of technology we are waiting to see more of its manifestation soonest. We have to explain what metaverse is all about and the aim of the project. Metaverse will be in the mouth of many immediately Facebook completely embrace the technology by providing all that is needed for the platform to function in 3D.
