Hi friends, I'm here again to participate in this weeks Lectures and Homework task.
Homework Task1
(1) What are the economic & social ramifications of self-upvote in Steem Blockchain? Do you gain better curation rewards by upvoting others as compared to self-upvote? (Include real examples)
The Economic & Social Ramifications in the steem Blockchain
Once, there was this nonstandard behaviour from a steemit users who refuged to self upvote.
Of course, this was ken as ill social act alongside economic influence on the blockchain reward pool which is viewed as cheat. Such I'll conduct doesn't support or advocate quality contents from writers or bloggers it rather smaller content posts seem to flourish more in the community resulting from inappropriate curation of the users.
When a user say 'X' having $20 VP continues self upvoting, abandoning user 'Y' and 'S' with $0.001 VP to their fate in obtaining any curation close to $0.1 value, of course, this is a discouragement and disheartens these users and as well affect the community. Behaviours as such is capable of being a reason for signing off or becoming inactive in Avery short space of time.
It is also perceived that such activity has economic influence on the steem blockchain as it unsuitably depreciates and reaps off the system and does not distribute upvoted.
Homework TASK-2
(2) What is the difference between isolated judgment and community judgment in curation? How do you adapt to community judgment on quality content in Steem Blockchain? Does that bring economic incentive for you? If yes, explain with real examples, (include screenshots and compare them with your isolated judgment)?
It was not quiet easy to tackle this question however, below is what I could come up with.
Simply put, isolated judgement is curation done lacking the maximum interest or alertness and confirmation of the judgement of the community. A post curated by individual without the consensus of the community scarcely allure good post rewards.
Also Isolated judgment can be converted into Community judgement when individual curators come to terms with the community on curation of an already divulged well made post. Meanwhile, community judgement implies curation of a good post accepted by a greater fraction of the community possessing the ability of receiving improved post rewards.
How do you adapt to community judgment on quality content in Steem Blockchain?
As a beginner in the Steem Blockchain, I probably may not have great skill or knowledge in knowing what time to curate and receive the pleasures of early upvote advantage, how to discover and consider a worthy quality post; in that case, I have to stick to the community blockchain judgement by conscientiously and skillfully follow the community's trend and as well ensue where there is community curation for improved post prize.
Howey, does that bring economic incentive for you?
Yes, depending on how well followed as shown in the adaptiveness.
My voting power at hand from steemworld.org is set at $0.00 based on the available resources.
Just illustrating upvote in an isolated judgement as well as community judgement.
Checking Curation value
(Upvote value is $0.00, 15hrs of post age)
Pcurator= (½) * (√PT) * (√P1-√P0) Δt
Where;
PT= Post Payout at the end of 7 days
P0= Post Payout before voting
P1= Post Payout after voting
P0= 0.00
P1= 0.00
PT= 0.00
Δt= 1 , as i have voted after 5 mins.
=> Pcurator= (½) * (√0.00) * (√0.00-√0.00)= $0.00
Curation reward= $0.00
Calculated curation value is the same as the value curated on this post.
I'll be try another post with community judgement. A quality post with good reward value, using the same resources as above.
Before upvote
After upvote
Checking Curation value
(Upvote value is $0.03, 15hrs of post age)
Pcurator= (½) * (√PT) * (√P1-√P0) Δt
Where;
PT= Post Payout at the end of 7 days
P0= Post Payout before voting
P1= Post Payout after voting
P0= 0.32
P1= 0.35
PT= 0.35
Δt= 1 , as i have voted after 5 mins.
=> Pcurator= (½) * (√0.35) * (√0.35-√0.32)= $0.007
Curation reward= $0.007
Curation value calculated is far below the value curated on this post.
Let me try another post with Community judgement this time. A quality and good post with reward value. Still using the same resources as seen above.
Before upvote
After upvote
Checking Curation value
(Upvote value is $0.05, 3hrs of post age)
Pcurator= (½) * (√PT) * (√P1-√P0) Δt
Where;
PT= Post Payout at the end of 7 days
P0= Post Payout before voting
P1= Post Payout after voting
P0= $41.60
P1= $41.65
PT= $41.65
Δt= 1 , as i have voted after 5 mins.
=> Pcurator= (½) * (√41.60) * (√41.65-√41.60)= $0.013
Curation reward= $0.013
The calculated curation value is far below the value curated on this post.
It is obvious that using the same resources on the two different posts and while placing an upvote, the one with a good post rewards gave me $0.05 higher than the latter with $0.03 without a good post reward.
Homework TASK-3
(3) Go to Steemworld.org, check your Upvote value( at the current SP, VP). Take a screenshot. Then go to the Steemit trending page, find a post with a payout of more than $10 but less than $50(Age less than 6 Days 12 hrs). Upvote it. Take screenshots before and after upvote. Similarly, go to another post on the Trending page, find a post with a payout of more than $100( Age less than 6 Days 12 Hrs). Upvote it. Take screenshots before and after upvote. Tell the differences between the two. Which one has produced a greater Upvote value & Curation reward for you with the same resources(SP, VP)? Explain?
Upvote value
(Screenshot of my upvote value)
This is the screenshot showing the upvote value of my steemit account. At 100% VP, it has a value of $0.00.
Payout of more than $10 but less than $50(Age less than 6 Days 12 hrs).
Post with a payout of more than $100( Age less than 6 Days 12 Hrs)
Payout of more than $10 but less than $50(Age less than 6 Days 12 hrs).
CALCULATING THE UPVOTE VALUE
Post before voting= $30.00
Post after voting= $30.11
Difference= $0.11
Implication: The implication is that the community judgement has a value of $0.11 which is 2.75 times higher than the isolation judgement of $0.04 (based on working with the same resources)
CALCULATING THE CURATION VALUE
Pcurator= (½) * (√PT) * (√P1-√P0) Δt
Where;
PT= Post Payout at the end of 7 days
P0= Post Payout before voting
P1= Post Payout after voting
P0= 30.00
P1= 30.11
PT= 30.11
Δt= 1 , as i have voted after 5 mins.
=> Pcurator= (½) * (√30.11) * (√30.11-√30.00)= $0.027
Curation reward= $0.027
Post with a payout of more than $100( Age less than 6 Days 12 Hrs)
CALCULATING THE UPVOTE VALUE
Post before voting= $312.56
Post after voting= $313.27
Difference= $0.71
Implication: The upvote value difference is higher than what was captured from steemworld.org VP, which means that the community judgement has a value of $0.71 which is 17.75 times higher than the isolation judgement of $0.04 (based on working with the same resources )
CALCULATING THE CURATION VALUE
Pcurator= (½) * (√PT) * (√P1-√P0) Δt
Where;
PT= Post Payout at the end of 7 days
P0= Post Payout before voting
P1= Post Payout after voting
P0= 312.56
P1= 313.27
PT= 313.27
Δt= 1 , as i have voted after 5 mins.
=> Pcurator= (½) * (√313.27) * (√313.27-√312.56)= $0.17
Curation reward= $0.17
This is my article for week-6 homework task professor @sapwood
Thank you for attending the lecture in Steemit-Crypto-Academy & doing the homework task-6.
Isolated judgment means your perception of the quality of a post is different from the consensus of the community. In such a post, it(payout) might not gain sufficient traction to reach linearity.
In contrast, community judgment gets follow-through upvotes of many users from the community, both qualitatively and monetarily. The convergent linear reward encourages the curators to vote a post whose payout has already reached linearity, thereby better curation reward as compared to isolated judgment.
If you regularly engage with others, you get to know the dynamics of the trending page. You can engineer your time and position of upvote to gain significant curation rewards. Overall, if you keep on curating quality content, by default you reach an agreement with the community.
That's correct The convergent linear reward curve converges to linearity with a higher payout. So if you go on curating top trending posts in the increasing order of their payout, you will find that the curation rewards also get better.
Thank you.
Homework Task -6 successfully accomplished.
