What is bandwidth in blockchain? Explain in your own words.

Bandwidth in the blockchain context refers To a user's ability To perform transactions or interact with the blockchain network. In this case, bandwidth is a measure of how much transaction data or operations a user can perform In a certain period of time.

Basically, every transaction or operation performed on the Blockchain requires a certain amount of data To be sent and verified by the network. This data includes Information such as the sender, receiver ,amount transferred, and other instructions related To the transaction. Every time a transaction is sent, The data must be processed and verified by nodes In the network.

Bandwidth regulates how many transactions or operations a user can perform In one period of time. This can be measured In terms of the number of transactions per second or the amount of data that can be transferred In a given unit of time. In some Blockchain protocols, bandwidth can also be Limited by existing rules and consensus mechanisms.

Bandwidth restrictions on blockchain networks are usually implemented To maintain network performance and security. With these restrictions In place, users are required To wisely consider their bandwidth usage and prioritize the transactions they send. If a user exceeds the allotted bandwidth limit, their transaction may be rejected or delayed.

It is important to note that each blockchain has a different implementation and mechanism when it comes To bandwidth. For example, In the Bitcoin network, the concept of bandwidth is not used explicitly, but there is a block size limit that affects how many transactions can fit In a block. On the other hand, the Ethereum network uses the concept of "Gas" to measure the use of resources, including bandwidth, In carrying out operations.

Overall, bandwidth In a blockchain refers To the ability of users To carry out transactions and Interact with the network, With certain limitations determined by existing protocols and consensus mechanisms.

Steem Blockchain uses Resource Credits, explain how it works.

The Steem Blockchain uses a concept known as " Resource Credits " (RC) to regulate the use of resources In the network. Resource Credits allow users To perform operations such as sending transactions, posting, voting ,and interacting with applications on the Steem Blockchain.

Resource Credits are basically a resource allocation system that gives access To various features and services In Steem. Each user is assigned a certain number of Resource Credits which they can use within a certain period of time, Usually a 5 day period.

The Resource Credits mechanism works as follows :

  • Earning Resource Credits:
Every user who has Steem Power (voice power In the Steem network) will generate Resource Credits Over time. The more Steem Power you have, The more Resource Credits you will generate. Users can also earn Resource Credits by storing their Steem Power In their accounts without taking any action.

  • Use of Resource Credits:
Every time a user performs an operation such as posting, voting, or submitting a transaction, they will use their Resource Credits. Each operation has a fee specified In Resource Credits ,and this fee will be deducted from the number of Resource Credits available To the user.

  • Limits on the use of Resource Credits:
Each user has a maximum limit on the use of Resource Credits In a certain period of time. This limit is Determined by the number of Resource Credits they have and other factors That can affect the allocation of resources. If a user exceeds the Usage limit of Resource Credits, They will Experience a delay In their operation or the operation may be refused.

The concept of Resource Credits on the Steem Blockchain is designed To prevent resource abuse and maintain balance In the network. By limiting the use of resources, such as bandwidth and processing, Resource Credits reward users who contribute consistently over a longer period of time and encourage efficient use of resources.

What is the difference between bandwidth and resource credit on the Steem blockchain?
  • Bandwidth :
Bandwidth In the context of the Steem blockchain refers To a user's ability to perform transactions or Interact with the network. Bandwidth on the Steem Blockchain relates to the amount of data that can be transferred or processed by a user within a certain period of time. This affects the user's ability To perform operations such as sending transactions, posting ,voting, and interacting with applications on the network. Bandwidth is governed by limits on the amount of data a user can consume or produce.

  • Resource Credits :
Resource Credits on the Steem blockchain are a resource allocation system that grants access To Features and services on the network. Resource Credits are linked To a user's ability to use certain resources, Such as bandwidth, processing, and other services. Each user is assigned a number of Resource Credits which They can use within a certain period of time.

Resource Credits are earned by owning Steem Power (voting power In the Steem network) or by Storing Steem Power in an account without taking any action. Users use Resource Credits to perform operations such as posting, voting ,or sending transactions. Resource Credits limit the use of resources within a certain period of time and Encourage efficient use.

In short, bandwidth places more emphasis on data Usage and limitations on data transfer or processing within a certain period of time ,While Resource Credits relate To the allocation of resources in general and Limitations on the use of resources within a certain period of Time.

It should be noted that the two are interrelated and can affect user access and activity on the Steem network. Resource Credits affect bandwidth usage because bandwidth usage Is one aspect of resource allocation regulated by Resource Credits. By limiting the use of resources through Resource Credits, bandwidth usage will also be affected in the transactions and operations carried out by users on the Steem network.

Hola Rezvan 😊

@rezvan Your explanation of bandwidth in the blockchain context is accurate. Bandwidth, in this context, refers to a user's capacity or ability to perform transactions or interact with the blockchain network. It is a measure of the amount of transaction data or operations a user can conduct within a specific timeframe.

Greeting dear brother

you have made a very good efforts to answer each question very well all the it's a learning process and we can improve our knowledge with every passing day and although you have give a very good description about the bandwidth and its function in blockChain. You have clearly describe step by step resource credits.

all the best
