Super Representatives, SR Partners, SR Candidates

Tron is one of the fastest, rapidly growing, and highly scalable Blockchains. Those who want to get rid of higher fees and build a customer-friendly decentralized application will always prefer Tron over others. Since 2017 it has been a thriving economy with decentralized exchanges, DeFi, staking, liquidity mining, stable coins, lending platform, etc.

TRON, the native coin of TRON BLOCKCHAIN, is 30th rank in market cap with more than 7 Billion USD. It is listed in all major exchanges, including DEXs.

Other than TRX, the various other standards used by TRON are TRC 10, TRC20, and TRC721 tokens. The recent DeFi project SUN is a significant success for TRON Blockchain.

BitTorrent and btfs scan recently has reshaped the era of decentralized, scalable file storage and sharing system.

TRON BLOCKCHAIN with DPOS consensus archives faster-scaling capacity, a major bottleneck in other major currencies like ETH and BTC. The network fee is also very low in TRON. The cost-effectiveness and high transaction throughput make TRON one of the world's most popular Blockchain.

Super Representatives

The fee of admission for the role of a Super Representative is 9999 TRX, and it is non-refundable, it is burned. It is not also a guarantee that a candidate will become an SR. That is up to the Tron community to decide.

TRON BLOCKCAHIN adopts DPOS consensus to manage and run the Blockchain similar to STEEM BLOCKCHAIN. STEEM BLOCKCHAIN has 20 witnesses who runs the network in the governance prototocl. TRON BLOCKCHAIN has 27 SRs to run the network in the governance protocol.

The SRs can implement the new rule and amend the existing rule when required, subject to community voting. Each round of elections lasts for 6 hrs. Within the day, elections happened four times. Very very dynamic Blockchain. If the same user has voted before and after 6 hrs, the new vote will be counted if the same user votes again.

Similar to STEEM BLOCKCHAIN, the TRON BLOCKCHAIN also has backup representatives. They are from 28th to 127th of the list of Representatives. The list of representatives is prepared on the footing of the total votes gathered every 6th hour. The election happens four times a day, so every 6th hour, the votes are counted.

All the details are displayed on Tronscan.

Difference between SRs, SR Candidate, SR Partners
  • The top 27 on the footing of total votes(rank) are SRs.
  • From 28th rank to 127th are SR Partners.
  • From 128th and above are SR Candidates.

Anyone who is not an SR and not an SR Partner from the list is an SR Candidate.

TRON BLOCKCHAIN distributes the Block reward to both voters and representatives.

  • SRs get Block Rewards and Vote rewards(20%, remaining 80% is for the voters)
  • SR Partner gets only vote rewards(20%, remaining 80% is for the voters)
  • Voters get 80% of the Block Reward and Vote Reward

Block Reward- 16 TRX per Block
Vote Reward- 160 TRX per Block

20% is the share for the Representatives, and 80% is the share of Voters.

All the Representatives run full nodes, which is required to validate the transaction and produce the Block.

All the TRON Holders are eligible to vote for Representative Election, and it is done every 6 hrs, that is four times a day. If a user unstake Tron Power, then the previous vote will become invalid.

What SRs, SR Partners and SR candidates can do?

SRs can make essential decisions on Governance, and they can amend an existing rule and introduce new provisions into the protocol. They can change the transaction fee, etc.

SR Partners, SRs, and SR Candidates can create a proposal on any proposed modification or changes. A proposal remains valid for three days and go for community voting. If the proposal does not YES vote, then it automatically gets canceled.

Any proposal to be considered as approved needs approval from 18 SRs out of 27 SRs.

How much total Block Reward and Vote Rewards are generated in TRON?

Block Reward and Vote Reward combinedly produce 176 TRX. 16 for Block Reward and 160 for Vote Reward.

Every 3 seconds in TRON produces one Block. Per day total Bock= 28800

Per day Block and Vote Reward= 28800 x 176= 5068800

Block Reward= 16 x 28800= 460800
Vote Reward= 160 x 28800= 4608000

The SRs get a share of 20% from both Block Reward and Vote Reward
The SR Partners get a share of 20% from Vote Rewards only.

The voters get a share of 80% from both Block Reward and Vote Reward.

Reward for voting a Super Representative

Daily Voter Rewards= (((the number of votes you vote to a representative) x 4,608,000 / total number of votes) x 80%) + ((460,800 / 27) * 80%) * (the number of votes you vote to a representative) / (the total number of votes a representative receives) TRX

Reward for voting a SR Partner

Daily Voter Rewards = (((the number of votes you vote to a representative) * 4,608,000 / total number of votes) * 80%) TRX

How to find the list of Super Representatives

  • Tronscan.org
  • Click on Governance. Then Representatives.
  • Select the tab Super Representatives
  • The list of SRs from 1st to 27th with all the details of their status is available on this page.

How to find the list of SR Partners

  • Tronscan.org
  • Click on Governance. Then Representatives.
  • Select the tab SR Partners
  • The list of SR Partners from 28th to 127th with all the details of their status is available on this page.

There is a column Voting sharing Ratio, each SR or SR Partner share with their voters. On the right of it, there is APR. The voters usually check both as staking and boring can also earn APR.

Difference between POS and DPOS

Contrary to the POW, POS and DPOS are environment friendly. Both use the stake to achieve consensus digitally. There can be additional requirements along with stake, but the stake is always predominant in both systems.

POS is direct democracy where the user needs to stake his token and run the node before he can mine a block. The more the stake is, the more chance to mine a block and validate a transaction.

DPOS is indirect democracy. A user without a stake can also mine a block. The selection of a miner or witness is done by community voting. The witnesses or miners with highest votes are elected as consensus witness or super representatives. But the number of witnesses or miners can vary.

In STEEM BLOCKCHAIN, 20+1 witnesses run the node and achieve consensus. In TRON BLOCKCHAIN, 27 Super Representatives run the node and achieve consensus.

The witnesses receive Block rewards for running the network. The Block reward varies for different Blockchain. Some networks also use reputation along with stake to make the POS more effective, trustworthy, and decentralized.

Write a Step by Step tutorial showcasing how to stake/freeze TRX and vote for SRs

To vote a Representative, I will first ensure that I have TRON POWER. If I don't have TRON POWER, I can freeze a few TRX to make my TRON POWER effective in voting a Representative.

Now let's do the practical how we can stake by freezing TRX and vote SRs.

(1) Go to TRON SCAN.

(2) In the web portal, first connect the TRON LINK WALLET.

img1.png

(3) Select the connection method. I use TRONLINK. Click on Connect.

img2.png

(4) Click the wallet address. It will redirect to the wallet interface. You can freeze TRX and generate TRON POWER.

(5) Go to Resources and click on Obtain. I am selecting Energy as a resource.

img4.png

(6) I am freezing 5 TRX, and in return, I will get Energy as a resource. Click onStake.

img5.png

(7) Successfully staked 5 TRX. Now I have 5 TRON POWER.

img7.png

(8) On the top row, click on ** Governance**, select Votes.

img8.png

(9) Click on Votes.

img9.png

(10) Select your Representative from the list of 27 SRs. Click on the + symbol, the amount of TRON POWER you want to use to vote for this Representative. Click on Voting.

(11) I have now successfully voted Poloniex as Super Representative.
