Hi everyone, its pleasure to meet you all after long long time.i had very sad and bad time from the last year but God is helping with his words.
Anyway coming to the post that i am going to put i would like to continue from where i stopped i.e., brachial plexus where i stopped. If you read my previous posts then you are going to learn upper limb.we are nerve entering into nerves of upper limb.
Before learning each nerve in detail let try to understand an overview of upper limb nerve distribution.
I already told that upper limb is divided into arm, forearm and hand.arm and forearm are subdivided into anterior and posterior compartment.
Anterior compartment of arm is supplied by musculocutaneous nerve
Anterior compartment of forearm is supplied by median and ulnar nerve
Posterior compartment of arm and forearm is supplied by radial nerve
Hand is supplied by median and ulnar nerve
Now we have to enter into know about each nerve.
MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE
Its origin is from lateral cord as a branch.
Its root value is C5,C6,C7
the name itself tells us the supply of it. It supply to anterior compartment muscle which are three in number and it pierces coracobrachialis muscle.it supplies only medial part of brachialis muscles lateral part is supplies by radial nerve.and it enters into forearm and supplies the lateral side of skin which is sensory supply.you can see below image to understand clearly.

Brachialis muscle is considered as composite/hybrid muscle as it gets nerve supply from both muscluocutaneous and radial nerve.
Struthers ligament
It is a 3rd head of coracobrachialis muscle and it is not commonly present in humans.but if it is present abnormally then it compress brachial artery and median nerve and this is called struther's syndrome.
AXILLARY NERVE
Its origin is from posterior cord as a branch.
Its root value is C5,C6
It supplies deltoid muscle and teres minor
Its sensory supply is to skin ofupper part of lateral side of arm and lower lateral is supplied by radial nerve
Regimental badge sign is loss of sensation over upper lateral side of arm.
The below pic shows regimental badge area supplied by axillary nerve

Thanks for putting your time in looking at my post.
