Hello steemians how are you I hope you are doing well and you all are safe and healthy during this pandemic time. Today I gone through to another lecture by professor @pelon53 on HASHGRAPH TECHNOLOGY . I found this lecture quite interesting and the main thing is we learn a new technology other than blockchain that we have done in these 8 weeks.

Before going to our main homework questions let us discuss about Hashgraph technology in breif .

What is Hashgraph technology ?

Hashgraph is a cutting-edge data sharing technology that enables safe transaction such as digital money transfer without the use of a centralised computing system. Hashgraph is a continued idea of of blockchain but with high speed, fairness, high security and low cost.
Hashgraph can be used in virtual Voting, cryptocurrency, decentralized apps etc.

Question 1 :

Explain in detail the gossip protocol used in hashgraph ?

Answer :

Before going in deep detail first let us understand what is gossip protocol. A gossip protocol is a computer-based peer to peer communication techniques for mechanism to identify how long something is spread.

The gossip protocol which is used in hashgraph technology is a mechanism that spreads data around and overall system in order to establish a consensus on a network transaction.
The gossip protocol function the same way that a gossip to gossip protocol does, in that a node in a system can broadcast data to another note at random in order to establish a consensus. All known data about notes transaction is sent to other node via gossip packet in order to verify the transaction and make a conclusion.
The gossip protocol is used in Hazrat not only send data from one node to other but it also send data details in showcase all nodes that are already involved in data.
What function the node is performing before receiving the data.
When note receive data how the node interact with it.

This create a nature of constant communication between the nodes.

Latest taken example to make our gossip protocol Idea more clear.
If note 1 deliver data to note 2 you then not one would describe other nodes that have communicate with the data, the time it occurred, and many other details giving all gossip about the data to the receiving note which is then transmitted back to node 1.
Gossip protocol, which is based on on or considered as hashgraph consensus technology, lets The no transmit everything they know about the transaction, it helps in decreasing network workload and resulting in faster saver and more reliable transaction.

Question 2 :

Explain tolerance to Byzantine faults in Hashgraph ?

Answer :

We can't explain tolerance to Byzantine faults in hashgraph if we don't know about that what is Byzantine faults.
A Byzantine fault occur when a node in a distributed network field without other node in the network been aware of the failure. It simply means that node 2 fails and node 1 don't know about this failure.

Hashgraph is an ABFT that is named as asynchronous Byzantine fault tolerance . It is a feature of Byzantine fault tolerance consensus algorithm that allow honest nodes in a network to agree secure Leon the time and order of a series of transaction.

Transaction can only be valid or can we say accurate when node of distributed network reach to final consensus. And also it is mathematically proven to make the transaction valid. So there are four main factors that it has to be follow to make valid transactions :

  • The consensus should be reached.
  • Network know every information about the reached consensus.
  • Mathematically proven test that allow all the nodes to reach the same consensus.
  • After reaching consensus transaction will be considered to be accurate and valid.

Let us taken example to make our idea more clear about reaching consensus.
If there are 5 nodes in a network chain and out of 5, 4 nodes are valid or we can say that out of 5 nodes only one node is invalid or less than one node is invalid then system will reach consensus and valid the transaction.

Question 3 :

Make a comparison between hashgraph and blockchain, for voting process in your country e which technology would you choose ? Why ?

Blockchain or Hashgraph which is better for virtual Voting in my country

In my country I think hashgraph technology is more beneficial in voting as compared to blockchain technology. The main reason is security system. Hashgraph are secured by asynchronous Byzantine fault tolerance consensus algorithm that is highly secured the platform against attack. No miner required to check accuracy of transaction . It means that in today's scenario offline voting take alot of employees from casting vote to counting vote. Hashgraph can easily solve our problem buy virtual voting . Its speed of transaction is very much useful in casting virtual votes. There is no issue of lagging networks. It will increase the vote percentage of a country as everyone can cast their was easily and in a fair manner. It will also so give result hand to hand without any delay which consider to be time saving mechanism. As time is very much sensitive in development of a country. So it will end up the vote counting system and provide instant results. The reason we are not using blockchain is the decentralized nature which public all the information and votes. Blockchain can get threats of cyber attacks.
So in my opinion, idea and vision virtual voting system is good to use with hashgraph technology.

Answer :

Network :

Click on the network option you will get token service that allow user to create its own fungible and non fungible tokens without smart contracts . Another option in network is consensus service that provide Hedera Consensus service API for verifiable timestampIng and ordering of events.

Devs :

In Devs we have two different options Tooling and Resources . In tooling we have docs and HEDERA SDK. In docs we learn the core concept and review of API and in Hedera SDK we can select the language of our own choice. Now in resources there are four options. Integrations which provide plugins and microservices of of hedera, fees which tell us about estimated transaction cost, open source which ask us for the contribution Hedera to improvement proposals and finally the learning centre that tell us resources on DLT and working of hashgraphs.

Use Cases :

Use cases option consists of 6 main features. Payments which reduce cost and unlock new revenue, tokenized asset manage and swap assets, fraud migration protect customer assets, identity, data compliance log and publicly verify actions, permissioned blockchain that create private ledger.
There is a second option also available build on Hedera in which we can see case studies, games, health care and enterprise.

HBAR the native currency of Hedera Hashgraph and in this section we have three options overview 2 account creation wallets and exchange. Overview tell us about HBAR cryptocurrency, account creation instantly create our new account in Hedera Hashgraph and wallet and exchange help us to find wallets which support HBAR coin.

This section helps to to get information about governing council of Hedera Hashgraph , as we can see in the above screenshot it consists of 39 terms limited that include different organisations. Reflecting up to 11 unique factors Academy and non-profits globally. They are committed to bring stability and continued decentralisation to the public network.

The about section of Hedera Hashgraph consists of different informations such as team, journey, road map, user group, careers, media, blog, press, news and papers. From past to present it and from present to future each and every single information is present in about. In the road map the company is sharing their vision.

This is my detail explore of Hedera Hashgraph. I try to cover each and every single information provided in Hedera Hashgraph.

Conclusion :

Now it's time to conclude our homework post. In this homework we start our discussion with hashgraph technology that is an advanced distributed ledger technology. Then we move to gossip protocol in which we get information about peer to peer communication technique. Gossip protocol is used in hashgraph to create a constant communication nature between the nodes. I think hashgraph technology the best and the greatest innovation in the top technology. The only authorised hashgraph technology at this movement is Hedera Hashgraph . It is important to develop more such platforms. And finally in my country after searching I found tata communications working with Hedera Hashgraph.
