Hello steemians, how I hope in you guys that your journey will be going well, so I start. I want to tell about my experience, now I start with the problems of blockchain security given by Professor @gbenga
I have heard a lot about SteemCryptoAccademy, but I don't know that it was fun until I recently joined. I was amazed by the classes offered by the professors. I felt that I knew a lot about cryptocurrency, but when I went through previous lectures like Lesson 4, I realized that there is always a lot to learn.
Increased awareness of cryptocurrency has also led to an increase in cyber cryptocurrency crimes. Many times the accounts reach the ceiling and before you know it all the wallets have to be wiped out. Just last week, we were warned on a group WhatsApp platform how a user had lost 3000 tokens which is currently around 10,000 USD.
Now, you would ask me how this could happen, if something was not promised for the token, which eventually was not even delivered, you call it the dusting attack, which is mostly due to token air drops. Very pathetic indeed but it is a warning to everyone involved in cryptocurrency not to share your wallet with anyone. If your wallet is missing a token, then inform on the cryptocurrency
Relying on cryptographies or cryptocurrencies does not mean that we are vulnerable to an attack on Karaptowalmate. We know the underlying nature of cryptographs to provide data security and trustee systems. Nevertheless, vulnerability in cryptocurrency can also be a consequence of human error and carelessness with security keys. Similarly, the type of exchange and wallet play an important role in protecting your assets.
Hackers take advantage of users' negligence through email wallets and reach their wallet and steal their money. Also, hackers give you a link to double the amount of wallet you have from spamming. Beware of that link. Make a complete check before opening the link. If you open a hacker link then your wallet will be stolen. Be careful with this
Personal experience with cryptocurrency
I have experienced a security agreement in my Binance account about a year ago. This caused me to lose access to my funds as I cannot re-enter my account. I received an email from Binance about an attempt to login to my account from an unknown device. If I do not know the login information, I was given the option to suspend my account by email. The account was suspended and I tried to log in again with my password but to no avail. I contacted the Binance customer for assistance, which took them many days to respond. He requested that I get KYC done with national ID card or international passport. To make the whole story short, I followed all the protocols to retrieve my Business account but to no avail. And at the time, Binance customer support was very poor and not favorable. This is that I lost my funds due to a possible login attempt from a hacker. On the other hand, I could not lose my funds because Binance is centralized and I do not have access to my private key and funds. After this incident, 80% of my funds are now stored in a decentralized wallet, where I have full control of my funds and 20% were engaged on centralized exchanges for intraday trading
Conclusion
Hackers have created security problems of cryptocurrency as a whole.
In order to crypto a better and new generation of coins, a good investigation of the mentioned problem and others is necessary.
