With the havoc Samson wrought on the farmlands of the philistines; he became a wanted man. The Philistines rose up against Judah in search of Samson. Being under the ruler-ship of the Philistines, the men of Judah were greatly terrified and they sought Samson out to hand him over to the Philistines. The Philistines had told the men of Judah that they were not out for war. Their singular request was to “arrest” Samson, to do to him as he hath done to them. Three thousand men of Judah went to the rock of Etam to meet with Samson to question his action against the Philistines and to seek to hand him over to the Philistines.
He wasn’t scared confronting the Philistines; all he was after was for his own people not to rise against him to harm him. Having received a pledge from the men of Judah; he released himself to be delivered into the hands of the Philistines. What a high level of spiritual confidence!

He was so confident of the ever abiding presence of God with him. He was so confident that God was going to show up and there would be yet a great massacre in the camp of the Philistines. Do you have confidence in God’s abiding presence with you?
Do you have confidence in God, that He will do the needful as you step out in faith to do His bidding? The men of Judah got Samson bound and headed for the camp of the Philistines. Immediately they saw Samson bound with new cords, they all shouted for joy expecting a cheap victory over Samson. The Psalmist proclaimed in Psalm 25:2 – “O my God, I trust in Thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me”.
This was Samson’s heart cry; he had so much confidence in the Lord his God, to release himself to be delivered into the hands of his enemies. Immediately Samson got in their midst, the Spirit of God manifested. The cords with which he was tied broke off and with the jaw bone of an ass which he found; he slew one thousand Philistines: one man against one thousand men! It had to be God. Where do you think he got the jawbone? Was it by chance? God is a Wonder! Your confidence in God shall not fail you; your confidence in His Word shall produce results beyond your wildest imagination.
