There is an adage that says show me your friends and I will tell you who you are. The friends you keep will definitely tell of who you are, what you do, and how you react to issues in life.

The story in Luke 22:54-60 tells us how to peter in a long run denied the Lord Jesus as foretold by Jesus. The question is; why did Peter deny Jesus Christ? one, the word of God let us know that when Jesus Christ was taken and brought into the high priest’s house, Peter followed him from distance. It is very dangerous to follow the Lord from afar. Secondly, because the weather was very cold out there, Peter moved into the tent and sat down with people warming themselves with fire. It is very sad today that some so-called Christians are enjoying the fire or the warmth of sin amid evil people

Peter, forgetting the fact that he was a Galilean, sat in the midst of the people of Jerusalem. He was faced with the truth that he was a Galilean and a disciple of the Lord Jesus for that matter. A lot of people pretend they aren't Christians so that they may mingle with the called ‘comfort zones’ in life, whereas, the word of God says we shouldn't be conformed to this world.

Peter wasn't conscious enough in the spirit to know that his location didn't support his commitment to the Lord Jesus. He denied the Lord to the extent of swearing and the cook crew. Let us learn from Simon Peter that we shouldn't follow Jesus Christ from afar. We must not go to places that would tarnish our spiritual life, no matter how appealing they may be.

The Almighty God wants us to be careful of how we dress and the company we keep. We are called to identify with Jesus Christ always.
