For today however, we are going to be focusing on the lust of the eyes. When you have a strong longing for material things, the Lord Jesus can't dwell and work mightily in you. A lot of individuals will miss Heaven because of their love for the things of the world.
Some even indulge in wrong just because they also want to buy the latest car like their colleagues. Thank God for cars, but a car can be a moving coffin for someone if gotten through dubious means.
If you keep chasing after the material things of this world, you will soon find out that they aren't worth the stress. The only thing worth having is the joy that comes of knowing that you are serving the Lord Jesus.
The fact that you are a believer however does not mean that you can't enjoy life. Rather, it implies you will enjoy life to the fullest, only that you have to take spiritual things very important. God desires that you be successful, but it must be even as your soul prospers.
Any success that will cost your soul will eventually destroy you. The first you need to seek is the kingdom of God and live a righteous life, then you will never be short of any good thing. This has been my experience with the Lord because I focus on doing is will every day, and He supplies all my needs.
