The word of God tells us to pray without ceasing and this statement isn't just advice but rather a command. The reason why we should obey this word of God is revealed in the words for our Lord Jesus Christ to His disciples and the followers didn't take this admonition seriously for some reasons of the sorrow that full their hearts after the Lord's farewell speech. This is a lesson to us all that we shouldn't let situations weaken our prayer lives. The result of the disciple's lack of prayer was catastrophic. Most of them didn't have the courage to stand firm when the Lord when arrested. They would have gotten the courage they needed to stand with the Lord in the place of prayer.
The disciples couldn't resist the temptation of running away after Jesus was arrested. Peter, the one who had appeared to be courageous among them turned out to be with courage; he ended up denying his Jesus three times. He had no spiritual boldness to follow the Lord through with his boast of readiness to die with Jesus Christ. We need to learn from this lesson because our flesh will always fail.
There are a lot of lessons we can learn from the story of the widow in Luke 18:1-8 and the first of which is that the judge intervened in her case not because the judge was interested in her situation. Rather, it was because the widow was relentless in prayer that force him to act and avenge her of her enemies. Secondly, this woman didn't change her request at any time. In other words, she was persistent in her prayer.
A lot of people go around in their lives, not knowing exactly what they need. Our Lord Jesus through this story let us that our heavenly Father, unlike the unjust judge in Luke 18, will answer us fast, but on one condition: if we pray believe that He is able to do what we ask of and trust in His justice. Just pray to the all might God today in faith, and you will receive beyond what you could think of.
