If you read through Esther 2:1-4, we can conclude that replacement can be positive or negative. I'm the case of Vashti, it was negative, but to Esther, it was positive. Anyone who has the power to install a king would also have the power to dethrone him. Romans 13:1 let us know it is the Almighty God who sets kings on thrones.
This is why someone in a position of authority must be very careful not to offend the Almighty God who placed them on the throne. Nebuchadnezzar is a classical illustration of someone who didn't remember that the Lord Most High rules the affairs of men. He didn't realize his foolishness until he was turned into a beast for seven years.
You must, make sure to keep anything the Lord has given you, to avoid being replaced. As Christian, the story in Esther 2:1-17 should be a very good lesson for us. We must observe so that nobody would take our crown.
It is unfortunate that a lot of so-called children of God are no longer remaining steadfast on their position of adoption, but instead they are selling their birthright like Esau, for food. Vashti momentarily forgot that she was a queen because her husband was the king. She rebelled in the king’s order and someone else took her crown.
To avoid being substitutes, we must be careful to obey every instruction given to us by our Redeemer, the Lord Jesus. When we do so, we acknowledge and adjunct Jesus’ work of salvation. However, when we refuse to bear fruit, we make the of Jesus Christ a waste.
