Rejoice evermore is one of the shortest verses of the New Testament. We read about the instruction of the Lord that we should Weep Not. This instruction is easier read than obeyed, notwithstanding, it should still be obeyed. A widow lost her only son and the Lord Jesus instructed her not to weep! The Lord is saying to us today also weep not, but instead we should rejoice because He will intervene in that matter that is drawing tears out our your eyes.
Weeping does not solve any problem, it is just a way of expressing sorrow. Weeping could be dangerous to those who had made weep their habit. Weeping makes people vision blur and thinking both physically and spiritually. Weeping, especially when the Lord says do not weep in such matters that seem unpleasant, is an indirect protest against the Lord command, and anything that we do against the command of God is an act of rebellion.
The word of God let us know that weeping may endure for a night, but joy come in the morning. Weeping blocked Mary Magdalene’s vision on the resurrection morning so much so that she mistook the Lord Jesus for a gardener. The Lord tried to console her but she didn't recognise Him.
A remedy to weeping is reading word of God concerning His promises for us in the period of trouble. Another one is high praises to the Lord who specializes in changing the changeable. The Scripture says that when David was sorrowful at Ziklag because the wives, children of his servant and also his own had been held captive by raiders, he begged the Lord for His consoling word.
He wasn't only consoled but also the Lord guaranteed his a full restoration. Seek and speak the word of God that is applicable to your problem in the time of distress, and also praise Him and you will definitely laugh last.
