Artificial intelligence: an offense to God

It is emerging as an unquestionable fact for the near future the improvement, to unthinkable limits, of something called artificial intelligence (AI); that is, certain machines may be endowed with characteristics identical to those possessed by human beings. This means that they will not only be similar to us as far as their anatomical structure is concerned, but they will be as rational as our species, capable of manifesting all the immense range of feelings and emotionality that any person can show, adding to this, of course, their incredible speed to process any type of logical-mathematical operations. The result would be, therefore, an android with immense practical capabilities, which can cry, laugh, love, feel sad, stressed and even hate whoever is not to its liking... A real danger to human limitations if these hallucinating projections were to come to fruition.

In addition to the fact that I perceive the insolent audacity of man to intrude into the realms where only God should reign, I refuse to believe that a robot can reason and develop, before the infinite stimuli that it perceives from its environment, in the same way that an individual engendered through natural means does. As it has always been said, each person is a world, an island that communicates with others, but that boasts very particular ways of reacting or facing the environment that surrounds it; an unfathomable mystery that the incredible advances of science have not been able to fully explain.

Will an android equipped with artificial intelligence be able to write, for example, a poem? It is not the same to perform a series of operations that have a defined principle, one or several formulas to achieve a precise result, than to handle words that emerge from the abstract regions of the soul, without a preconceived method, and to arrange them in such a way that with their rhythm, their resources and their meanings (which by the way are often stripped of their literal meaning) can awaken love, joy, tenderness or any sensation experienced by the human being; it is not just a matter of combining words, but of creating an imaginary universe full of beauty and spirituality.

On the other hand, it is true that there are very useful machines specialized in tasks that they perform with great ease, but that require, on the part of humans, an inordinate effort. However, I have never seen one that dares to lie, or even make a joke. That is, if we ask a robot what the square root of 81 is, it will never answer that it is 12.5 and then laugh and tell you that it was a game and that the answer is 9.
