What would happen if all the churches were actually lighthouses? What effect would it have on the community? How would it change the nation? How would it change the world?
Are not the headlights beautiful? I've traveled all over the world and seen all sorts of amazing and impressive things, but the picturesque lighthouses are still my favorite scenes.
I guess that's the reason why I've taken so many pictures of them over the years. Is that for me there has always been something serene, something of majesty in a lighthouse.
Let me ask you: What is a beacon for? Who benefits from its light? What would happen without him? Well, I can think of two crucial functions. First, a lighthouse identifies a safe harbor.
In the darkness of the night, the penetrating light of a lighthouse directs the tired sailors to the comfort of their home. Second, its beacon shines with a clear signal to avoid a shipwreck.
That is, the light alerts the ships of the danger of the rocks or of an unexpected landfall. Without this light, the ships would surely crash and shatter. With this image in mind, is not it interesting what Jesus says in Matthew 5: 14-16? He proclaims: "You are the light of the world ... [Therefore] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven" (emphasis added). Referring, not only to each believer but also to the churches.
