Luke 6:38 “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again”.
Giving is essential to human life. Even nature gives freely without being told and we are beneficiaries of its gifting. Usually people are always tempted to hold back instead of giving out but as a Christian, we should know better.
It could be easy for some to give when they have it all, but giving in itself has nothing to do with everything you have, only the little you can spare to meet the need of the helpless. A major point in giving is the position of the heart; givers usually have a graceful heart. Some give for publicity, fame, others for attention but we should give from a sincere heart filled with compassion for those in need.
It can be said that giving to others will make the recipient happy, but much more, it will bring joy to the heart of the giver. The thought of being a lifeline, a lifesaver is a thing of joy. We can give just about anything; it is not constrained to money. Time, belongings, advice, even a smile, these are things we can give without even burdening ourselves. Never keep back what is meant to bless others. You shouldn’t be giving because you want something in return, that’s bad. Give because it is the right thing to do, expecting nothing in return. Give because you have a good heart and you want to bless others. Be like Jesus, Be a blessing!
