It is easy to be appreciative when things are going as planned, when circumstances are working in our favour. This kind of person is circumstances conscious, their thanksgiving is motivated by what is going on around them.
But a person who gives thanks both in good and bad times is worthy of our emulation. His thanksgiving is not controlled by what is going on around us.
We often concentrate on the things we do not have, and we complain about it. But rather, we should appreciate the things we have because it is a blessing to us. There are those that will give anything to be where we are today, it is a matter of perception. Sometimes, to kick-start our thanksgiving. We can write the things we grateful to God for, this is when we realize we have so much to be thankful for.
