Dear brothers, I hope you are well, the Bible has many teachings, all of them contain two great commandments, number 1: Love God above all else and number 2: Love your neighbor as yourself, Jesus summarized it in those two important commands of the creator, and then we have to fulfill them as fruits of genuine repentance.
Before delving more deeply into the subject, I want to remember that Venezuela is experiencing very difficult times in economic matters, with more crisis in the lower social classes, to the point where many of our relatives, friends, neighbors have had to emigrate to other countries, with the desire of an improvement for his relatives by selling properties, vehicles, houses among other things to meet the cost of tickets. I have known cases of people who are making stops without money in many cities so that someone can take them from section to section, that is, they go through the routes begging for the help of those who travel in their vehicles, transport companies, trucks, winning them to achieve the goal of leaving Venezuela.
Having said all this, now if we enter into the matter so that they know the context of the suffering of many Venezuelans, those who ask for help, either to dress or eat, and many times having in our power how to help them we do not do it. The Bible says that as much as we have the power to do so, let us not deny ourselves, having the possibility of giving a helping hand, we cannot ignore our fellow men or just tell them "go in peace" Jesus Christ affirms it in the following quote:
James 2: 14-17 New International Version (NIV)
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed, ”but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
Although the bible says that God loves a cheerful giver, that we do not deny ourselves when we have power to help, we also see that James affirms that we must bear worthy fruit with visible evidence even when works do not save us, we understand then that the love of God in our hearts leads us on the earthly plane to show the goodness of God towards others by supplying their needs or promoting the means so that all those who suffer for any reason are blessed. Are we selfish with our wealth? Are we ready to support the fallen and help him up? We must sincerely take care of ourselves, we are going to have problems with God for ignoring our brothers, we serve from the heart not so that men see us but our heavenly father.
