The man who found a treasure
This story is based on a biblical portion found in the New Testament:
Matthew 13: 44-46 Reina-Valera 1995
Parable of the hidden treasure
44 “Furthermore, the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man finds and hides again; and joyful for it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
The precious pearl
45 “Also the kingdom of heaven is similar to a merchant looking for good pearls, 46 and when he found a precious pearl, he went and sold everything he had and bought it.
These were the two verses that my wife and I decided to study today for our devotional, dedicating a few minutes to reflection we were able to contemplate several profound truths of the word of God, the first is that when a person decides to embrace faith in Jesus Christ it is able to abandon anything to please his master, understanding that the most important thing that person has found is to know what our God hates and stop practicing it. The second thing is that being a true child of God requires a new mentality, a reset of our culture, habits and life purposes, internalizing that within the demand to follow the savior of humanity is the refusal to please ourselves. .
In the same way, we could take as a more everyday example the issue of marriage, those of us who have a family (wife and children) understand that we must do everything that is convenient for the family group to enjoy a good economy, spirituality, among other things, both so we are willing to stop dressing or buy something to give to our spouse or our children. At the same time, the bible compares the church of Jesus as that bride who is attentive to her husband and ready here on earth doing everything that pleases him, in a sense as he himself says: “whoever wants to be my disciple must deny himself, take up his cross and follow me ”.

What can we do to preserve this great treasure? How could I reciprocate such dedication of the Lord for me? These are thoughts that we must meditate scrutinizing and studying the assignments for the church, that every living being understands that there is nothing more important than pleasing Jesus Christ, there is nothing more valuable than being at peace with God.
