I attended a concert a week ago and i actually learnt a lot. An advice to singers and upcoming vocalists never you under estimate the importance of going for concerts because you get to actually learn different ways of doing music, hear new sounds and create impactful relationships. Well that's a lesson for another day.

I also observed some few things but one thing stood out for me which I would like to share ....
In the course of the concert there was a period whereby they began to do a mic toss(a period in which a mic is passed to singers one after the other. Most times at random and most times intentionally to sing so as to show style, technique and uniqueness of sounds ).

I was mesmerized by the musical prowess of the Guest vocalists it was a sight to behold seeing the techniques that was employed by each of the vocalists. But some thing happened.

A lady was given the mic she had a fantastic voice no doubt but in the course of her delivering her piece, her time elapsed and she was signaled to pass the mic to the next Vocalist. Rather than doing that she actually held the mic and kept on singing putting up a sign that they should hold on until she was done.

You know it seemed like nothing to her but it passed a lot of non verbal messages to a lot of people in the audience including me.

As a minister, vocalist, singer, timeliness is very key in your my musical journey no matter how much content you have to offer, if you fail to understand this little but very key principle you may not go very far.

Always...

Learn to be apt in your delivery when the occasion arises .

If you have been allocated a time frame to minister work around that because no be only you waka come lol

In as much as you want to bless lives by your songs it's not actually by how long you sing that makes the difference it's actually the impact that you have left in the hearts of your listeners.
