Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth."

Babel means confusion. The kind of confusion that is a result of sin of pride. The pride of making a name for ourselves, that is, trying hard to be famous and popular and powerful.
It sounds like the modern day people are bewitched by the Babel spirit.This Babel confusion spirit produces disunity, separation and dispersion. This is the life that most people are living now.
The Bible says, mankind attempted to reach the heavens and God through their works and thoughts. The tower of Babel shows man's continue efforts to make a name for themselves by reaching to the pinnacle of heavens. Yet as high as man can build, or go or achieve through his own effort and work, God still has to come down to see them., and offer the grace and truth.
I am not against being rich, famous, popular, successful and powerful. But if this is the sole reason for your life, existence, efforts and works, then you are living a babel life. It's a life of confusion and vanity.
Why not accept God's grace and truth and come out of this modern day life of confusion. It's not getting better, but worse and worse every day. Only the truth of God and His grace through the sacrifice of Jesus is worth living for. Remember your babel life will leave you with regrets and sorrow. Accept God's offer now.
