Dear brothers and sisters good afternoon, I remembered Years ago, when I hear people say "God told me to do this and that", I kept wondering how God spoke to them. But Not like I doubted that God can speak to men, not at all, of course scattered around scriptures there were many times God spoke to His people.
I really believed those lines..."And the Lord spake unto this and that, saying..." But it bothered me how did they hear Him speak? I do often ask.
Inside of me I strongly desired that I will hear God speak to me too, so I kept close company with those I knew had entered that realm. Many times I'll ask, "how does God really speak to a man?"🤓. And A whole lot of steps, conditions and ways to hear from God was given to me and as I began to apply them I realized that most times God speaks in "whispers" but our ears are sometimes not 'single' or attentive enough to hear Him and even when we hear, we doubt if it is really Him. It I too was in that league.
I could still vividly remember one day, during my IT program posting, IT for industrial training as a student in my country you will have to pass through IT to get your HND degree mostly engineering students.
So a machine was to be used for an analysis. It was a cutting machine, used for cutting metals Our engineers went to where it was mounted and clicked the switch he believed or thought to be the 'on' switch. It did not work.
He called some other staffs to try. It still did not work. I just stood and watched. Then those sweet whispers came... "GO AND TURN ON THAT SWITCH". The machine had about 4-5 switches on it. One looked like an analog galvanometer, another looked like a timer and another looked like a temperature control, but there was another that they all did not try and that was the one He asked me to touch.
I made up my mind to do it, but I waited for them all to leave. They had tried their best and they agreed to either take the machine for repairs or replace it. When they left, I went to that button and turned it on and like a joke the light came up and it began to work. My colleague that was there was surprised. Just then, one of the staffs came in and, the rest is history.
The point is, there are many times we disobey those little whispers from the Holy Spirit to our own detriment and to the loss of those around us.
God help us all to always listen to the God's speaking🙏
