KJV. The foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1corinthians 1:25
There are a lot of people who regard the message of the cross as foolishness, if they were told that they could attain eternal bliss and salvation of their souls by means of noble deeds and applying all their energy and ability, they might fine that acceptable, but the crucified person cannot, in their own opinion, be a suitable means of salvation.
This is the reason why the Holy Scriptures stresses that in this connection there are “not many wise according to the flesh”, (vs.26). Who receive the preaching of the cross, hear this, whoever judges according to his own intelligence, instead of taking God at his word, not only considers the cross foolishness but even weakness. Whoever is able to stand up for he/herself or had the strength to prevail over others is not worthy of your trust, so says mankind in his pride, and attributing this failings to Jesus Christ.
Fact is, what is foolish and weak in man’s eyes is wise and even stronger in the sight of God. All who by faith have experienced the wisdom and power of God hidden in the cross are free and happy. Most addicts have giving up what bound them and returned to their family circle.
Also those who were sinners recognized that Christ was in person wisdom direct from God and -righteousness and sanctification and redemption” (vs.30) therefor they trust the lord and not man’s wisdom, which could never have brought salvation. Oh how gratifying and wonderful it is that eternal is not the portion of a few privileged persons but can be assessable to all.
