THE PASSOVER

Good morning dear friends in SteemChurch community and the Steemit blog, I bring greetings in the name of the lord. It’s a new week I hope you all are doing well, I want to share the word of God with you. Today I will be speaking from the book of

(Exodus 12:13) when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

Brethren in the Passover we have a type of judgment. “I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt on that night” (v.12). Through the blood of the Passover lamb alone could Isreal be preserved from that judgment? Atonement has been made for the sins of Israel, “lest he that destroyed the first born should not touch them”

(Hebrews11:28) the blood on the doorposts was the proof.

It kept the destroying angels outside and meant safety for the family inside.

The lamb was roast with fire – illustration of Christ, who totally submitted to God’s righteous judgment for us both physically and in the depths of his soul. Under the protection of the blood the Israelites were instructed to feed on the lamb with bitter herbs. Thus Christ, too, is now the precious “food” for the hearts of believers.

They feed on him, the lamb who died for them, with “bitter herbs”, i.e. with a profound consciousness of the gravity of sin and death. But they do so in perfect peace and with a clear conscience because their sin has been fully atoned for. Thus, in his love God gave Israelites a precious lamb fit to bear the judgment that they deserved. The love of God spread the people who, of themselves, had no means of escaping the judgment. Brethren let me ask this question are you in particular grateful to God for giving his son as our paschal lamb?
