Contentment is one main attributes that you need for you to live a good life and end the heavenly journey successfully. The rich of this world is the main tool in the hands of Satan to make beliefs fall. Even though Satan knew that the Lord Jesus was well aware of the mansions waiting for Him in heaven, he still tried his best to tempt Him with the glories of this world.
That is the same way the devil tempts believers even today. He will show you your colleagues' new sports car and tell you that if you just steal a little money or defraud a client, then you can also purchase that sports car. The only individuals who will fall into this trap of Satan are those who aren't content with what they have.
It is fine to want more things, but be thankful to the Almighty God for the little that you have now as you ask Him for more.
Do not put your focus on what you do not have, instead put your attention on what you do have. Do not put your focus on what God hasn't given you, put your attention on what He has given you. I have come to know that when a fellow puts his focus so much on wealth, they may eventually come, but at the expense of the person's stand with God.
David said in Psalm 37:4 that your joy shouldn't be in the things of this present world but the Lord. Only then will the Lord provide you all that you desire. What is it that gives you joy? Is it having more money, buying new sports cars, traveling on holiday or is it the Lord?. If your joy is in worldly things, Satan will present them to you at the expense of your faith in the Lord.
Do not compromise to get rich, it isn't worth it. The Almighty God wants us to prosper, so you do not have to go again to your faith to be rich. It is much better to be poor knowing for sure that you are on your way to heaven than to be rich but on your way to hell.
