Knowledge, specifically godly knowledge is power. The Almighty Most High is our sure refuge and fortress. However, that only works if you are His son or daughter. A refuge is a place you hide when there is one trouble or the other. For me, this place is the presence of God because the presence of God is the best place to hide. Sometimes, hiding isn't cowardice. It could be wisdom if only you are hiding with the Sure Refuge.

Even brave soldiers learn to hide; it is a military strategy. There are a lot of occasions in the Bible when the Lord told His prophets to hide. Prophet Elijah declared before king Ahab that there would be no rain nor dew until he commanded so. Immediately after he said that to the king, the Lord asked him to hide. Is this not weird? Was the Almighty God afraid of the king, Certainly not! When the Lord says you should hide, what it means is that the battle is no longer your battle but His.

In Matthew 2:13-15, the Lord told Joseph to take Mary and the baby Jesus into hiding. Even the Lord Jesus had to be taken into hiding. He was hidden so that the Lord could deal with king Herod. In the long run, Herod was smitten by the angel of the Lord and eaten by worms thereafter.

If the Almighty God tells me to hide so He can fight for me, I will gladly do so. Just like David, when our trust in the Lord is absolute, we wouldn't need anyone to cajole us to exercise faith. Only the righteousness of the Lord can make us triumphant over the attacks of the enemy. A life of holiness makes the Almighty God listen to His ear to our cry in times of trouble. The promise of the Lord in Psalm 91:14-15 is for the people who love Him, know His name, and keep His commandments.
