Fought many battles,
escaped numerous accidents,
restricted several airflows from those who tried to choke me,
laid my back down to the ground
but rose again to bloom.
I've survived through the
times I couldn't trust myself
and days I felt distressed.

I've thought more than a sage,
acted older than my age,
battled with headaches,
just to ensure I have my cakes;
because they are the luxuries of living.
I've endured the rigours of mind shifts,
withstood the challenges of change
and the obstacles that I've faced.

That I am who I am right now,
doesn't mean I never fought through anything.
But with God in my race,
I've been given grace, to keep to the pace
that would stretch but wouldn't break me.
That I am considered better than my peers
doesn't mean no one ever saw my tears,
but I've got the one who gently cleans them
and encourages me to move on.
I've got God with me always.
