Understanding the worthy of giving is very important. It's really good for one to know the reason of giving, what he/she would get after giving. If not, it's better to stop giving.

Today, we are have been called to give willingly from our heart what God has done for us. This is the annual harvest we the Methodist Church do every year.

Because of this, I was searching the good and motivational message about how to give willingly without regretting. I read some verse from the Book of Corinthians:

2 Corinthians 9:6-8(NIV)

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."

Yes, I need to give according to what I have decided to give to the Lord, not what someone perceive I had to do or what my pastor wish me to do. Because of many church activities, social life we always like to accomplish, many of us give not according to their will or what they think to do. In that case, we wouldn't receive any blessings from God since we aren't giving from our heart.

On second note, many of us think that giving huge is what God blesses us on, so if the fellow isn't even having, he finds dubious means of getting something to please his pastor.

In the case that one church member did in our area, used credit Union money he has been collecting to donate in Church during their harvest project. At the end, he was wanted by police, since he spent over millions of others money to please his pastor and church members.

What do you think, the fellow would be? He would regret using others money to donate in church and at the end he was being chased.

Let's be careful of what we also give to God. Everything we do, whether in strength or cash even if we offer for mankind, it means we offer for God. Let's do it according to our strength and will. God the rewarded and the searcher of our heart would reward us.
