So that no mortal man should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God.
No soul has ground to glory or lift up his or her her heart before God, because our origin as sinner was from no known background.
We can only overcome pride when we abandon all claims to self righteousness and depend utterly and completely on Jesus Christ for both salvation and righteousness before God. So that we glory in Jesus Christ and in His cross. Phil. 3;3 For we [Christians] are the true circumcision, who worship God in spirit and by the Spirit of God and exult and glory and pride ourselves in Jesus Christ, and put no confidence or dependence [on what we are] in the flesh and on outward privileges and physical advantages and external appearances
Lack of humanity is kept under control as we realized that the only true pride is pride of the Lord Jesus 1cor.1;31 :So then, as it is written, Let him who boasts and proudly rejoices and glories, boast and proudly rejoice and glory in the Lord.
Pride of the world must never be taken for granted, for the danger of the pride will not be removed until we are changed perfectly into our Lord's likeness. Phil. 3:21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
Humility is assisted by our being mindful of the proverbs from the scripture concerning pride. Proverbs 25:14 :Whoever falsely boasts of gifts [he does not give] is like clouds and wind without rain and proverbs 27:1 **
AMP:Do not boast of [yourself and] tomorrow, for you know not what a day may bring forth**
Humility is gotten by our being mindful of the words of scripture, which warn against pride and its danger. 1Peter 5:5 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble always learn from examples of men who where proud and what happened to them. Remember God opposes the proud.
BLESSINGS OF HUMILITY
If we humble ourselves before God, we will not be judged on the of judgement. Matthew 23:12 Whoever exalts himself [with haughtiness and empty pride] shall be humbled (brought low), and whoever humbles himself [whoever has a modest opinion of himself and behaves accordingly] shall be raised to honor
Humility brings safety, exaltation and grace, 1Pet 5:6
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time
you can only enjoy these blessings by humbling yourself before God.
Conclusion
The secret of exaltation is to humble yourself. Do you want to be exalted by God? Start now to humble yourself! Because pride kills and destroy, those that boasts of them selves are always brought low, remember God is against the proud and will always oppose them
Stay humble in the Lord, and make your boasts and pride in Christ Jesus only and you will enjoy the blessings of God
