The person who introduce Christ to you as a believer matters a lot in your life. Jesus was a good disciples to his disciples so he lead them with examples. Your discipler is someone who introduces you to Christ, teach you about Christ and show you more by doing what he or she is teaching you (examples).
A discipler should be a person who is a servant, who is spiritually higher in knowledge than you, like peter,he had many disciples who he taught and led by examples.
Who introduces Christ to you matters,
Who you listens to matters,
The messages you listens to matters,
What the person told you about Christ matters.
It will be better to remain a disciple to Christ alone than to have a discipler who mislead you and misreform you. Having a wrong introduction about Christ is misleading and it causes lack of faith.
After hearing from whosoever you follows,listens to, always learn to hear from God himself direct. Also learn to read your bible.
Know God personally for yourself, don't wait to be told what to do or say by others. Know God for you and make God your true discipler. Let Him discipline you and listen to your earthy follower but make Christ the ultimate.
