“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
As His children, we are waiting for the Father to complete our adoption by redeeming our bodies so that we can be with Him. God's Spirit helps us in the season of waiting by taking our unformed prayers to God. We trust that God uses every circumstance in our lives for His purposes and that He has chosen us long ago to be His children.
The word "good" does not necessarily mean happy or painless or financially successful or our idea of the best possible outcome on any given day. God's ultimate good for us is to glorify us in eternity (Revelation 21:1–4).
Beyond that, God works in and through us toward an ultimate good that serves His purpose for the universe.
