Today I will talk to you about Jesus Christ our Good Shepherd, about the need to belong to his flock. We are sheep of his sheepfold, and how we must gather as his flock every week to be comforted by his Holy Spirit and be fed by him.

11 I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12 But the hireling, and he who is not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches the sheep and scatters them. 13 So the hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know my own sheep, and my own know me, 15 even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one flock, and one shepherd. 17 Therefore the Father loveth me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment I received from my Father.John 10:11-18 RVR1960.

The scripture in John's gospel is the initiative of Jesus speaking to the people a parable about a shepherd friend, a shepherd who has been honest and adaptable, compassionate. A shepherd who was willing to die on the cross for your sake, to protect his sheep. Jesus was telling us something about ourselves, because he is the good shepherd of our own lives. He is mentioning to us through this parable three things about himself as the good shepherd..

Why did Jesus Christ use this parable? Jesus uses this parable about shepherds, because the people of his day knew that the kind of life a shepherd lived, was a difficult life, a hard life. A shepherd felt that he had a calling from an early age to tend the sheep, so he spent the rest of his young adult life learning to save the sheep. The rest of his adult history was spent tending the sheep, fighting the animals if they ate them, and sometimes fighting and guarding them against thieves who might steal them.

Why is the Lord good? Now that Jesus is the Good Shepherd of our lives, the model Chief Shepherd of the church, we have the possibility to see how good about him for he is the Shepherd first of all Jesus says, that the good shepherd gives his story for the sheep. A shepherd in Jesus' day if he really did his job well with his whole being, and not just for the money, would be willing and able to place his story for the sheep he was saving. Jesus is mentioning to us, that the lord was willing to offer his story for ourselves, his sheep.

Who is the good shepherd and what is his work? In the same way, Jesus as the good shepherd died for ourselves as the Lamb of God, and God accepts us as his sheep clothed with the robe of the Lamb of righteousness. Jesus was willing to place his story for ourselves, so that we might have life, life with the Lord and eternal life. The good shepherd, who is Jesus, is willing to die for his sheep, with the goal that the sheep might gain life.

Let us note another thing, Jesus says about the flock. He posits that his sheep hear his voice once he calls the sheep that are of his fold. Once we come or approach the sheepfold, we have come to hear Jesus' voice. And Jesus posits that the sheep in the sheepfold hear his voice. Yes, Jesus is the good shepherd, the one who leads us on the path of life. Jesus is our good Shepherd, He is the only one who loves us in spite of our sins.

Hoy les hablaré sobre Jesucristo nuestro Buen Pastor, de la necesidad de pertenecer a su rebaño. Somos ovejas de su redil, y como debemos de congregarnos como su rebaño cada una de las semanas para lograr ser consolados por su Espíritu Santo y ser alimentados por Él.

11 Yo soy el buen pastor; el buen pastor su vida da por las ovejas. 12 Mas el asalariado, y que no es el pastor, de quien no son propias las ovejas, ve venir al lobo y deja las ovejas y huye, y el lobo arrebata las ovejas y las dispersa. 13 Así que el asalariado huye, porque es asalariado, y no le importan las ovejas. 14 Yo soy el buen pastor; y conozco mis ovejas, y las mías me conocen, 15 así como el Padre me conoce, y yo conozco al Padre; y pongo mi vida por las ovejas. 16 También tengo otras ovejas que no son de este redil; aquellas también debo traer, y oirán mi voz; y habrá un rebaño, y un pastor. 17 Por eso me ama el Padre, porque yo pongo mi vida, para volverla a tomar. 18 Nadie me la quita, sino que yo de mí mismo la pongo. Tengo poder para ponerla, y tengo poder para volverla a tomar. Este mandamiento recibí de mi Padre.Juan 10:11-18 RVR1960.

La escritura del evangelio de Juan es la iniciativa de Jesús hablándole al pueblo una parábola sobre un amigo pastor, un pastor que ha sido honesto y adaptable, compasivo. Un pastor que estuvo dispuesto a morir en la cruz por vuestros, para proteger por a sus ovejas. Jesús nos estaba mencionando algo acerca de uno mismo, debido a que él es el buen pastor de nuestras propias vidas. Él nos está mencionando por medio de esta parábola tres cosas sobre él mismo como el buen pastor.

¿Por qué Jesucristo uso esta parábola? Jesús utiliza esta parábola sobre pastores, ya que las personas de su día sabía que el tipo de vida que vivía un pastor, era una vida difícil, una vida dura. Un pastor sentía que poseía un llamado a partir de una edad temprana con ver de atender las ovejas, de esta forma que pasaba lo demás de su historia de muchacho aprendiendo a salvar las ovejas. Lo demás de su historia adulta cuidando las ovejas, luchando contra los animales, si se las comían, y a veces luchando y vigilándolas contra los ladrones que se las podían robar.

¿Por qué están bueno el señor? Ahora que Jesús es el buen Pastor de nuestras vidas, el modelo de Pastor principal de la iglesia, tenemos la posibilidad de ver lo tan bueno sobre él pues es el Pastor antes que nada Jesús dice, que el buen pastor da su historia por las ovejas. Un pastor en los días de Jesús si realmente hacía bien su trabajo con todo su ser, y no únicamente por el dinero estarían dispuestos y capaces de situar su historia por las ovejas que estaba salvando. Jesús nos está mencionando, que el señor estaba dispuesto a ofrecer su historia por nosotros mismos, sus ovejas.

¿Quién es el buen pastor y cuál es su obra? De la misma forma, Jesús como el buen pastor murió por nosotros mismos como el Cordero de Dios, y Dios nos acepta como sus ovejas revestidas con el manto del Cordero de justicia. Jesús estaba dispuesto a situar su historia por nosotros mismos, para que pudiéramos tener vida, la vida con el señor y la vida eterna. El buen pastor, que es Jesús, está dispuesto a morir por sus ovejas, con el objetivo de que las ovejas logren vivir.

Notemos otra cosa, Jesús dice acerca del rebaño. Él plantea que sus ovejas oyen su voz una vez que llama a las ovejas que son de su redil. Una vez que venimos o nos acercamos al redil, hemos venido a oír la voz de Jesús. Y Jesús plantea que las ovejas del redil escuchan su voz. Sí, Jesús es el buen pastor, el que nos conduce por el camino de la vida. Jesús es nuestro buen Pastor, Él es el único que nos ama a pesar de nuestros pecados.
