"But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? WILL THE THING FORMED SAY TO HIM WHO FORMED IT, “WHY HAVE YOU MADE ME LIKE THIS?”
Romans 9:20 (NKJV)
• Some have been at the same level, physically and spirituality, for a number of years because of inflexibility.
- Your willingness to take corrections and change your stand on a particular issue and embrace that of God is flexibility.
- To be flexible is being able to change to suit new conditions or situations.
IT ALSO means to be adaptable, and to be easily Bent without breaking. - For God to fully work in the affairs of your life, you have to be flexible in his hand: "But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? WILL THE THING FORMED SAY TO HIM WHO FORMED IT, “WHY HAVE YOU MADE ME LIKE THIS?” (Romans 9:20).
• Whoever wants to walk with God should be willing to put his or her life in the hands of God, and trust Him to do whatever He sees fit with it: "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, BUT WHOEVER LOSES HIS LIFE FOR MY SAKE WILL SAVE IT" (Luke 9:24).
- God promotes and blesses those who are flexible in His hand.
GOD would wants to lift someone who having been lifted would show the One Who lifted him or her.
HE would not want anyone to ascribe the glory of his or her success to the self: "THAT NO FLESH SHOULD GLORY IN HIS PRESENCE" (1 Corinthians 1:29). - Someone who would be instructed by Him to do a thing and would be willing to do it without hesitation, complaints, Or arguments.
- The progress of any number of believers are stunted because they are not bendy—in the hand of God.
THEY want to prove to know and that they are wise, thus God could not help them:
"the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? HAS NOT GOD MADE FOOLISH THE WISDOM OF THIS WORLD?"
1 Corinthians 1:19,20 (NKJV)
• Abraham was instructed to offer his son, Isaac, as a sacrifice: he did not deliberate or seek counsel from whom ever, whether to do it or not, from whoever, before he did obey—he simply took the step as he was instructed (Genesis 22:1-3).
HE was willing to do whatever God told him to do and go wherever He would want him to go.
- Some whom God has given a burden or an urge to do one thing or another for His Kingdom would want to sample people's opinions about it; they wanted to know whether they should do it or NOT.
- God has been calling some to change one negative attitude or the other in their lives, but instead of correcting it, they wanted to look for a way of justifying the trait that God is asking them to change.
- As a Believer or Christian, your obedience would always be tested, If you passed the test, you will move forward and be promoted.
HOWEVER If you did fail the test, stagnation is inevitable.
YOU may not know it was a test because God will not tell you you are being tested. - You must be willing to obey all the time, whenever you are instructed, and whatever He said to do.
WHETHER it is convenient to do or not, YOU must be ready to do whatever God is bidding you to do—that is how to pass the test. - Those who will fail such a test are the ones who are egocentric, they have pride and full of the self.
• At times when God instructed you to do something, all He needed is your willingness to do it—in order to pass the test and convince Him that you love and reverence Him.
- God did not actually need Abraham's son as a sacrifice, He just wanted to test the heart of Abraham and wanted to know how much he loved and feared Him—God: "And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; FOR NOW I KNOW THAT YOU FEAR GOD, SINCE YOU HAVE NOT WITHHELD YOUR SON, YOUR ONLY SON, FROM ME" (Genesis 22:12).
- God would not need the sacrifice of your son or daughter either, all He needs is your obedience—the willingness to do whatever He has Biden you (Micah 6:7,8).
SOME of the things God would allow to come your way are meant to test your heart in order to know how much you love and fear Him (Genesis 22:2,12,16). - The whole nation of Israel was tested when God brought them out of Egypt and led them through the wilderness: "And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, TO HUMBLE YOU AND TEST YOU, TO KNOW WHAT WAS IN YOUR HEART, WHETHER YOU WOULD KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS OR NOT" (Deuteronomy 8:2).
- God would not have known the heart of the Israelites, how stubborn, hard hearted, and recalcitrant they were in obeying God. If He had not led them through the wilderness and allowed them to experience hunger and hardships.
- Leading them through the wilderness and subjecting them to hunger by the Holy Spirit.
- Ability to keep following and obeying in the affliction is a proof that you love God.
SOME delays in fruitfulness; both in marriage and child bearing, are to test your submissiveness and flexibility.
LIMITATIONS in businesses and fulfilment in the academic pursuits could be a test of flexibility.
• God is a good God, He is not against the success of those who are His, however, He wants their flexibility—that they should be bendy in His hand.
- God did not lead the Israelites through the way of the land of the Philistines, although it was a shorter route, but He led them through the way of the wilderness of the Red Sea (Exodus 13:17,18).
IF the Israelites were not led through the wilderness AND the Red Sea, What was in their hearts would not have been known. - Pressures in your Christian journey would reveal what you have in your heart WHETHER you are stubborn, rebellious, and or obedient.
- God knows where to fix and place an individual Christian, He knows the things such needed, the blessings that befits him or her, He however delays or gives an instruction to follow, that He might know the heart of such a believer.
- The flexibility of your heart and the willingness to do His bidding determines the kind of blessings God places on an individual Christian.
THE type of blessings and the speed with which the blessings are released would be determined by the believer. - To be free and enjoy God's blessings: be flexible in His hand and cooperate with Him in whichever direction He may lead you.
WHEN you heed His Words and commands, you will be a master of circumstances and situations. - Some are too wise and are too rigid to be controlled or led by God, they are full of the self, senses, and are egocentric, thus they become stagnant—their progress is hampered.
• The secrets of Abraham's blessings are flexibility and obedience—prompt and being willing to obey at all time:
WHEN he was called out of his father's house and land, he obeyed, he left the known for the unknown (Genesis 12:1-3).
WHEN he was promised to be given a child, he waited, did not waive at the promises of God, did not consider the negative: his own body which is already dead and the deadness of Sarah's womb (Romans 4:17-21).
WHEN God did ask him to offer up Isaac, his only begotten son, as a sacrifice, he obeyed (Genesis 22:1,2; Hebrews 11:17,18).
• Whatever God is asking you to do or change in your life, you will do well to obey.
Be flexible, free, and pliable in the hand of God—it is for your own good.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
