"Who shall bring charge against God's elect? IT IS GOD WHO JUSTIFIES."
Romans 8:33 (NKJV)
"Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for His own? No one—FOR GOD HIMSELF HAS GIVEN US RIGHT STANDING WITH HIMSELF."
Romans 8:33 (NLT)
• If God has justified you, no one can condemn you—bring any charge against you.
- However, you must walk in the newness of the justification, the newness of the right standing with God, which you have received.
- Your justification by grace should not be abused, you should walk in the newness of life (Romans 6:4; 7:6).
- Some have twisted, misinterpreted the above Bible passage used as the text of this teaching, they BELIEVE once you professed to be saved, you are immune to sin, regardless how you live, since you are justified, you cannot be condemned (2 Peter 3:16).
- They usually quote and make reference to the next verse of the text Romans 8 verse 34: "Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and He is sitting in the place of honour at God's right hand, pleading for us." (NLT)
- No one will condemn you, if you stand firm, grounded and steadfast in the faith, the truth, the liberty or freedom you have received in Christ (Galatians 5:13).
- "And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, YET NOW HE HAS RECONCILED
- in the body of His flesh through death, TO PRESENT YOU HOLY, AND BLAMELESS, AND ABOVE REPROACH IN HIS SIGHT—
- IF INDEED YOU CONTINUE IN THE FAITH, GROUNDED AND STEADFAST, AND ARE NOT MOVED AWAY FROM THE HOPE OF THE GOSPEL WHICH YOU HEARD, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister."
Colossians 1:21-23 (NKJV)
- As long as you are steadfast in Christ, your justification, right standing with God, is intact—no one can condemn you.
HOWEVER if you move away from the faith, you are no longer walking in the light of God's Word, you are living in sin, your justification is no longer intact. - The above Scripture says, "IF INDEED YOU CONTINUE IN THE FAITH." IN other words, IF YOU CONTINUE NOT IN THE FAITH your reconciliation with God the Father is no longer intact.
- God has no permanent friend, but permanent interest, if you are no longer interested in Him and His Word, His interest is no longer in you, then you are no longer His friend: "You are My friend IF you do whatever I command you" (John 15:16).
IN OTHER WORDS, your friendship with Him ended, when you stop doing whatever He commanded you.
• Thus, you cannot be living in sin and say no one can condemn you; you remained justified as long as you live right.
- "What shall we say then? SHALL WE CONTINUE IN SIN THAT GRACE MAY ABOUND?
- CERTAINLY NOT! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?"
Romans 6:1,2 (NKJV)
• You are saved to live right.
- You are not to go back into those sins you have forsaken (2 Peter 2:20-22).
- "Likewise you also, reckon [consider] yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- THEREFORE DO NOT LET SIN REIGN IN YOUR MORTAL BODY, that you should obey it in its lusts.
- And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, BUT PRESENT YOURSELVES TO GOD as being alive from the dead, and YOUR MEMBERS AS INSTRUMENTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS TO GOD."
Romans 6:11-13 (NKJV)
• You have a work to do not to yield to the lust of the flesh (Romans 12:1).
- Flesh will still want you to do what you used to do as an unbeliever—you should not yield to it (Galatians 5:16,17).
- You can choose either to yield to the Spirit or to the flesh.
- You become a slave of whatever you yield to.
- "And having been set free from sin, YOU BECOME SLAVES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.
- I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanliness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, SO NOW PRESENT YOUR MEMBERS AS SLAVES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR HOLINESS."
Romans 6:18,19 (NKJV)
- You should no longer yield to the flesh but rather to the Spirit.
"They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. FOR YOU ARE A SLAVE TO WHATEVER CONTROLS YOU."
2 Peter 2:19 (NLT)
"I say then: WALK IN THE SPIRIT, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh."
Galatians 5:16 (NKJV)
- If you allow flesh to overcome you, you will be under its control or bondage; however, if you allow the Spirit, you will be under the control of the Spirit.
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, AND DO NOT BE ENTANGLED AGAIN WITH A YOKE OF BONDAGE."
Galatians 5:1 (NKJV)
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Peace!
