- “THE LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble.”
- And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.”
Psalm 9:9,10 (NKJV)
• God is a Defence
- Oppression comes from the enemy—the devil. The devil stirs up the demons and the humans who have given their souls to him, to oppress the Believers in Christ Jesus.
- Satanic attacks and oppressions should be handled prayerfully. God is our refuge when trouble comes.
- A Dictionary defines refuge as: a place, person or thing that provides shelter or protection for someone or something.
- It means God provides shelter and protection for whoever comes to Him through the Lord Jesus Christ: "11 For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him [Jesus] will not be put to shame. 13 For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved" (Romans 10:11,13).
- He is the refuge in the time of trouble and a present help in the time of needs (Psalm 9:9; 46:1).
"GOD is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble."
Psalm 46:1 (AMP)
- Whoever leaves the place of refuge of God, which is in Christ Jesus, would suffer in the hand of the enemy: "THE LORD'S NAME IS A STRONG TOWER; the righteous run to it and find REFUGE" (Proverbs 18:10 Common English Bible).
"The name of ADONAI is a strong tower; a righteous person runs to it and is RAISED HIGH [above danger]."
Proverbs 18:10 (The Complete Jewish Bible)
- The devil would want to lure whoever put his or her trust in God, out of God’s protective care—His refuge.
- Also, the devil would want to lure you out of the arena of faith, and any attempt to deal with him in the flesh or in the sense realm would be uttered or completed failure.
- Believers are called to fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12).
- It is a fight that the outcome is already determined. In other words, the result of the fight is already known because Jesus has defeated the devil and his cohorts and made an open show of them: "GOD DEFEATED THE SPIRITUAL RULERS AND POWERS. With the cross God won the victory and defeated them. HE SHOWED THE WORLD THAT THEY WERE POWERLESS. (Colossians 2:15 International Children Bible).
- Jesus has already defeated the devil and has given us the victory over him. Believers are to press home their victory in Christ Jesus through faith (1 John 5:4).
- You are to tell the devil, saying No, whenever he is coming with whatever is not in God's plans and counsel for your Life.
• "Those who know your name put their trust in you, for you have not ABANDONED THOSE WHO SEEK YOU, ADONAI" (Psalm 9:10 The Complete Jewish Bible).
- Knowing God is a process, and it leads to a total trust in Him.
- Trust in Him is built over a period of time in your walking with God.
- Spirit of wisdom or spiritual wisdom is gotten through the revelation in the knowledge of God (Ephesians 1:17,18).
- And your eyes of understanding is enlightened through the knowledge of Him that you have had; and it eventually deepens your trust in Him
- The more you know God, have knowledge of Him, the deeper the understanding of Him you have.
- The knowledge plus the understanding of Him that you have, which is the enlightenment, deepens your trust in Him (Ephesians 1:17,18).
- The more you seek Him, the more intimate you become with Him.
- Trust emanates from the faithfulness of Him which you have experienced in the seeking of Him over a period of time—in your walking with Him.
- The often you experience His faithfulness, the higher your trust in Him rises, and the deeper it is also.
- The true seekers of God always find Him and experience His faithfulness.
- If you genuinely and sincerely seek God, He will be found by you: "BUT without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, AND THAT HE IS A REWARDER OF THOSE WHO DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM" (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV).
- God cannot but make Himself known to those who thirst for Him: "FOR I WILL POUR WATER ON HIM WHO IS THIRSTY, and flood on dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring" (Isaiah 44:3)
READ: Matthew 5:6 - Jesus Christ encourages us to ask, seek, and knock: "7 "ASK, and it will be given to you; SEEK, and you will find; KNOCK, and it will be opened to you. 8 "For everyone who ASKS RECEIVES, and he who SEEKS FINDS, and to him who KNOCKS IT WILL BE OPENED" (Matthew 7:7,8 NKJV).
- God promises to meet the needs of those who sincerely seek Him:
14 "Because he has SET HIS LOVE UPON ME, therefore I WILL DELIVER HIM; I will set him on HIGH, because he has KNOWN MY NAME. 15 He shall CALL UPON ME, and I will ANSWER HIM; I will BE WITH HIM in trouble; I will DELIVER HIM and HONOUR HIM. 16 With long life I will SATISFY HIM, and SHOW HIM MY SALVATION" (Psalm 91:14-16 NKJV). - God will not forsake those who seek Him.
• Admonishment
- I want to encourage you to allow God in the affairs of your Life (Proverbs 3:5,6).
- We are at the time that people do not want the truth.
THEY do not want to hear the Truth, and would not want to share the affairs of their lives with whoever will tell them the Truth. - They rather want to share their matters with those who will feed their flesh, who will tell them what they wanted to hear.
- "FOR the time will come when people will not tolerate SOUND DOCTRINE AND ACCURATE INSTRUCTION [that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing], they will accumulate for themselves [many] TEACHERS [one after another, chosen] to SATISFY their own DESIRES and TO SUPPORT THE ERRORS THEY HOLD,
- AND WILL TURN THEIR EARS AWAY FROM THE TRUTH and will wander off into myths and man-made fictions [and will accept the unacceptable]."
2 Timothy 4:3,4 (AMP)
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Peace!
