"THE remnant of the tribe of Judah will pasture there. They will rest at night in the abandoned houses in Ashkelon. FOR THE LORD THEIR GOD WILL VISIT HIS PEOPLE IN KINDNESS AND RESTORE THEIR PROSPERITY AGAIN."
Zephaniah 2:7 (NLT)
• God promises to visit His people, the Israelites, in kindness and restore their prosperity again.
- God will visit you in kindness and restore all you had lost. God's anger or annoyance does not last Forever: "FOR HIS ANGER LASTS ONLY A MOMENT, BUT HIS FAVOUR LASTS A LIFETIME! WEEPING MAY LAST THROUGH THE NIGHT, BUT JOY COMES WITH THE MORNING" (Psalm 30:5 NLT).
- God promises restoration to His people, and whoever walks with Him would experience this, If such comes to Him remorsefully.
- If you had lost anything in the past, God will restore back in double fold in Jesus' name.
• When God visited someone or a people, such usually would not remain the same.
- If it seems you had been forgotten, put aside for a period of time, and be hopeless, God would remember you and visit you and turn your predicaments.
- Divine visitation would cause people to remember that person again. Those who were against him or her would suddenly change and want to be reconciled with him or her.
- At the time of divine visitation, those who have deserted the person would begin to look for him or her, even with gifts. Such a person is being remembered for good at such a time!
• God spoke about the remembering of the covenant He made with Abraham, and that led to the deliverance or the liberation of the Israelites when they were in Egypt: "GOD HEARD THEIR [the Israelites'] GROANING, AND HE REMEMBERED HIS COVENANT PROMISE TO ABRAHAM, ISAAC, AND JACOB" (Exodus 2:24 NLT).
- God did call and assign Moses to undertake the task or the assignment of their release (Exodus 3:10). He was sent to them, the Israelites, and to Pharaoh, in order to secure their release.
- Prior to Moses going, God told him of Pharaoh's reluctance in releasing the people, but said he would eventually allow them after he had been dealt with:
19 BUT I AM SURE THAT THE KING OF EGYPT WILL NOT LET YOU GO, NO, NOT EVEN BY A MIGHTY HAND. 20 SO I WILL STRETCH OUT MY HAND AND STRIKE EGYPT WITH ALL MY WONDERS WHICH I WILL DO IN ITS MIDST; AND AFTER THAT HE WILL LET YOU GO" (Exodus 3:19,20 NKJV). - God did promise that He would grant the Israelites favour in the sight of the Egyptians and cause them to give them gifts of clothing and articles of gold, and sliver (Exodus 3:21,22).
- When you are Divinely visited, that is, visited by God, He would cause even those who posed to be enemies; be at peace with you and caused them to bless you with gifts.
• When Nebuchadnezzar allowed pride in his heart, God did allow him to be driven to the forest, where he ate grasses like an animal (Daniel 4:33).
- However, when he learnt his lesson, the Lord allowed his sanity to be restored to him (Daniel 4:34). God stirred the nobles, his officers, to look for him and be reinstated:
36 “WHEN MY SANITY RETURNED TO ME, SO DID MY HONOUR AND GLORY AND KINGDOM. MY ADVISERS AND NOBLES SOUGHT ME OUT, AND I WAS RESTORED AS HEAD OF MY KINGDOM, WITH EVEN GREATER HONOUR THAN BEFORE. 37 “NOW I, NEBUCHADNEZZAR, PRAISE AND GLORIFY AND HONOUR THE KING OF HEAVEN. ALL HIS ACTS ARE JUST and TRUE, And HE IS ABLE TO HUMBLE THE PROUD" (Daniel 4:36,37 NLT). - Whatever belongs to you, or ought to be given to you, which you had been robbed of, would be given to you, when you are remembered and visited by God.
• The divine visitation is always preceded by genuine repentance. When the person concerned has seen or realized his or her mistakes, where they had missed it.
- Nebuchadnezzar's release was preempted by his penitence, when he realized that the most High rules in the affairs of Men, humans. When he Acknowledges God: "YOU [Nebuchadnezzar] WILL BE DRIVEN FROM HUMAN SOCIETY. YOU WILL LIVE IN THE FIELDS WITH THE WILD ANIMALS, AND YOU WILL EAT GRASS LIKE A COW.
Seven periods of time will pass while you live this way, UNTIL YOU LEARN THAT THE MOST HIGH RULES OVER THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD AND GIVES THEM TO ANYONE HE CHOOSES" (Daniel 4:32 NLT).
"IF MY PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME WILL HUMBLE THEMSELVES, AND PRAY AND SEEK MY FACE, And TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVEN, AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN AND HEAL THEIR LAND."
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)
