Praying aloud is biblical. As a matter of fact the bible make us to understand that "confession is made unto salvation" and for confession to gain expression, there must be a pronouncement. But this post is geared towards opening our eyes of understanding to the fact that we can silently communicate to God and still get terrific and extraordinary results. To buttress this fact, we shall be considering the book of John 11:41-44 Kjv

"Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he has thus spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was bound about with a napkin, Jesus saith unto them, loose him, and let him go"

Isn't it amazing that Jesus had to thank God for an answered prayer even without making any prayers? see verse 41 "Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, "Father I thank thee that thou hast heard me" Did he actually made any prayers before going to the grave where Lazarus was laid? To answer that, let's take a look at the preceding verse (john 11:33 Kjv)

"When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled"

Let's equally see (John 11:38 Kjv) "Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave"

Groaning from the above verses of scriptures means A low, mournful sound uttered in pain or grief. It will not be out of place to say that those moments Jesus groaned in the spirit were actually moments of prayers (see Romans 8:26 Kjv) "Likewise the spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be utterd" Hence; those moments of groanings were not moments of pains, regrets, pity or a feeling of remorse for not showing up on time to heal Lazarus of his ailment before his death but those were moments of deep intercession and connection with the father. And that was the reason he said "Father I thank thee, for thou has heard me" and after glorifying the father, he gave a command and he that was dead came forth.

The prayers Jesus made in the spirit was way powerful to have resurrected Lazarus from the dead but for the sake of those around at the time, he decided to make an utterance to the intent that they may glorify his father in heaven (see John 11:42 Kjv) "And I knew that thou hearest me always: but for the sake of the people which stand by I said it. that they may believe that thou hast sent me

One of the privileges we have and enjoy as believers is the ability to communicate with our father in heaven without necessarily making any utterance. There are situations or circumstances you find yourself in that restricts you from praying aloud but your mind cannot be restricted. Men may control your physical being but they don't have control over your spirit man. Thus; you have no excuse whatsoever to disconnect from heaven or not to pray without ceasing as the scripture has commanded. The God we are dealing with, searches the heart of men. He is the all knowing God. Even before you open your mouth to say a word, he already knows your desires. why then are you not praying?

That you can silently pray in your office, on the road, on the bus, on the street or wherever you find yourself and God can still hear you out is indeed a great privilege every believer must harness and tap into. Faith is what you need. Remember for without faith, it is impossible to please God. Faith is the link with God's power. When a believer's prayer is mixed with faith, there is always an astonishing results. The methodology used in praying is irrelevant. God honors faith not methods.

It must be noted that when dealing with God, distance is never a barrier. Where you are cannot hinder you from communing with your father in heaven. Never trivialize the power of silent prayers. Pray every time, pray every where, and pray every day. You can always telephone heaven whenever you feel like and you will sure get a response.

God bless you.
