INTRODUCTION

Child prostitution is the engagement of children, in sexual activities in exchange for a rebate or any other form of repayment (such as gifts, food, clothes, etc). This term generally symbolizes the prostitution of minors or persons under the lawful age of approval (usually, anyone less than 18 years of age).

These children work on freeways or in facilities such as brothels, clubs, massage centres, pubs, inns etc. And it's gender sensitive as both boys and girls are steered to prostitution.

This is a very sensitive topic as child prostitution is considered illegal In most jurisdictions. It is an infringement of human rights and is extensively found in areas of deprivation and scarcity. I hope with this, we can adequately discern how to help stave off child prostitution from our society.

There are various types of child pandering of which the most widespread categories include

SURVIVAL SEX : This occurs when a child commits sexual acts to receive money, food, shelter, clothing, or other items required to survive. In such circumstances, the bargain normally involves only the child and the client; teenagers engaged in survival sex are usually on their own and not monitored or overseen by procurers, or madams.

SEX TRAFFICKING: This involves a child being forced into prostitution by parents, a household or somebody else in their life. Children may also be persuaded into prostitution by a third party (the system where a child is sold by their household or guardians) to another family or guardian.
In some circumstances, casualties of sex trafficking are abducted by outsiders, either by force or by being conned into becoming involved through lies and false promises.

SEX CHILD TOURISM: Sex Child Tourism is the engagement in the prostitution of children, which is commercial-driven child sexual abuse.

Sexual offenders utilise the fragile nature of children as they are less competent to defend themselves. This bizarre behaviour is frequently induced by the impression of sexual and economic power, the desire for new ordeals, or the feeling of impunity related to anonymity.

Users of children for commercial and sexual objectives can be classified under motive. Although paedophiles are commonly related to child sex tourism, they are not the bulk of stoners. There are two types of offenders:

PREFERENTIAL ABUSERS: These are the persons who precisely prefer children, because they strive to build a connection with a child or because they recognize the risk of sexually transmitted diseases to be lower.

SITUATIONAL USERS: These are abusers who do not primarily seek out children but for whom the virtual act is opportunistic. That is, there may be an absence of interest to check the age of a prostitute before committing sexual acts.

WHAT CAUSES CHILD PROSTITUTION?

The following are only but a few causes of child prostitution;

WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF CHILD PROSTITUTION?

Child prostitution steers to adverse impacts on the well-being and cognitive health of the child involved later in life since they oftentimes become procurers themselves.

Sexually exploited teenagers are often illiterates. Dismissed by their families and looked down on by society, they have limited access to healthcare and endure exceptionally unhygienic circumstances

It also facilitates the transmission of HIV since several clients mire the idea of having protected sex with a child. Therefore making the children vulnerable to numerous sexually transmitted diseases.

On a physical status, the harm to children comprises vaginal tearing, physical after-effects of torture (such as bruises and cuts), pain, illness, or detested pregnancy.

On a psychological ground, the child can also exhibit signs, such as sadness, temperament or sexual orientation confusion, difficulties with behaviour (aggressiveness or anger), trouble sleeping, loss of self-confidence, anxiety or hatred towards adults.

HOW CAN WE PREVENT CHILD PROSTITUTION?

It's of utmost significance to prevent child prostitution and to understand what to do if you believe someone is being a victim.

Parents need to teach their children to avoid predators and to tell them if anyone tries to compel them into doing anything. As well, the parents must provide for the needs of the children and not let them fend for their selves.

The children need to understand the logic of their bodies and the need to abstain from sexual activities as it can cause severe injuries through sex education and encouraged not to be moved by what they see or hear about sex on till they attain maturity.

The governing bodies need to do more as the prostitution of minors is illicit in most nations, and all countries have some form of constraint against it. The dispute about the maturity age is still a big problem. Global law defines a child as any person under the age of 18, but numerous nations lawfully acknowledge lower ages of consent and adulthood, usually varying from 13 to 17 years of age. An example is the Czech Republic, where prostitution is legal for children older than 14.

CONCLUSIONS

Children are known to be the leaders of tomorrow and if corrupted at a tender age, how can they lead in the future? Children need the protection of everyone in the community to be great in the future so please spare them the agony of this illicit act. We are to protect and care for them.
