Hemos llegado a la edición 134 de "Arte y Escritura" y para esta, el invitado es Albert Gustaf Aristides Edelfelt, mejor conocido en el mundo pictórico como Albert Edelfert:

Este distinguido artista nació el 21 de julio de 1854 en Porvoo (Finlandia).

Desde muy joven sintió inclinación hacia la pintura. Cuando era un adolescente, falleció su padre, y su madre hizo grandes esfuerzos para poder sacar a la familia adelante.

En el año 1865 se matriculó en la Escuela de Dibujo de la Sociedad de Arte Finlandesa en Helsinski.

Fue becado por el gobierno de Finlandia para estudiar en la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Amberes, Bélgica.

Cuando tenía 19 años viajó a París, donde permaneció por un año.

En los años 1876 y 1879 viajaba mucho de París a Finlandia.

Se residenció en San Petesburgo en el año 1881. En ese mismo año estuvo en España, donde quedó impactado con la cultura gitana.

Estuvo casado con la baronesa Ellan de la Chapelle, con quien tuvo un hijo Erik Edelfelt.

Llevó el movimiento realista a Finlandia.

Falleció el 18 de agosto de 1905 en Porvoo (Finlandia)

This distinguished artist was born on July 21, 1854 in Porvoo (Finland).

From a very young age he felt an inclination towards painting. When he was a teenager, his father died, and his mother made great efforts to support the family.

In 1865 he enrolled in the Drawing School of the Finnish Art Society in Helsinki.

He was awarded a scholarship by the Finnish government to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium.

When he was 19 years old he traveled to Paris, where he stayed for a year.

In the years 1876 and 1879 he traveled a lot between Paris and Finland.

He resided in St. Petersburg in 1881. In that same year he was in Spain, where he was impressed by the gypsy culture.

He was married to Baroness Ellan de la Chapelle, with whom he had a son, Erik Edelfelt.

He brought the realist movement to Finland.

He died on August 18, 1905 in Porvoo (Finland)
