The idea of taking paying passengers to the edge of the stratosphere seems to have gained traction and a second company, the Spanish company EOS-X Space, announced that it is almost completing its revolutionary capsule that will take seven passengers to the sky, hoisted by a giant balloon and to the next year.
The pressurized carbon fiber capsule will carry seven passengers and a pilot up to about 40,000 meters hanging beneath a stratospheric, ice-filled balloon. The journey begins at dawn, taking 2 hours to ascend, 2 hours to cross an altitude and an additional hour to descend and land, like the spaceship Neptune, the EOS-X will offer ergonomic seats, panoramic windows, ambient lighting, an on-board bar and a washroom, but luxury has its price; passengers will have to shell out between 150,000 to 200,000 for the experience.
