Chinese scientists have made a surprising discovery by analyzing the Changa 5 mission sample collected from the lunar surface in December 2020 for the first time they found naturally occurring few-layer graphene on the moon.

The prevailing theory of the giant impact that has been strongly supported by the idea that a carbon-depleted moon now faces a new perspective, researchers from Jilin University in their article published in the journal National Science review suggest the existence of a process of carbon capture on the moon that led to the gradual accumulation of native carbon.
