Scientific Curiosity, Serendipity in the movie “Contact”

A serendipity is a knowledge or discovery that is made by chance. In the 1997 film “Contact,” adapted from the novel by Carl Sagan, the protagonist undertakes a journey through a wormhole built by extraterrestrials to the star Vega.

The protagonist emerges within a storm of snow and debris that surrounds the star, but no obvious planets are seen, since it seems that the creators of the film got it right, because the latest discovery offered by the Hubble and James Webb telescopes shows that vega does not . . It has planets, just a disk of very fine dust.

The star Vega is older than the sun, it is also younger, the star Vega has 2.1 solar masses and its age is only about 450 million years, it is located 25 light years from us, it is quite close, it was the polar star around the year 12,000 BC and will be again around the year 13,720 AD, Vega came to be classified as the most important star in the sky after the sun.
