The Pentatomomorpha consists of an infraorder of insects within the correct bug Hemiptera. This brings together animals such as rotten bugs (Pentatomidae), flatbugs (Aradidae), bed bugs (Lygaeidae and Rhyparochromidae), etc. They are closely related to Cimicomorpha. Based on the morphology of fossils, the ancestors of Pentatomomorpha must be older than the fossils of the late Triassic. They play an important role in the agricultural and forestry industries and they are also used as control agents in studies.
