I continue to write about the trip to St. Petersburg. You can find the first part of my story here.
The next day we dedicated a tour of the museum in the city of Pushkino.
The museum includes the Catherine Park with a palace and pavilions, Aleksandrovsky Park with a palace and pavilions, and Babolovsky Park with a palace.
We walked through the Catherine Park and visited the magnificent palace, the Tsarskoye Selo imperial residence. To make it more convenient and interesting, we decided to walk around the palace as part of an excursion group. The guide told very interesting facts about this place, history and many other interesting things. The halls of the palace amaze with their splendor. The richness and luxury of interior decoration is surprising.
In some rooms, the walls are decorated with paintings from floor to ceiling. There are also many different frescoes on the ceilings, which in itself is very impressive in its size and beauty.
The interior decoration of the amber room left a special impression on me. The walls in this room are made of amber, a natural mineral that is used in jewelry making.
It is difficult to remember and describe everything that is in this residence, because for this you need to spend thousands of hours of excursions. I advise everyone to visit this place, who wants to feel that time from the inside.
Get ready to walk a lot in a day. Our pedometer counted 27 thousand steps during that excursion, which is about 19 kilometers.
I will talk about our further visit to St. Petersburg in the next post.
