Es una planta herbácea perenne y bulbosa de flores blancas, originaria de Asia, principalmente de la India. Otra niña importada que conquistó tierras latinas con sus encantos y adaptabilidad. En la India utilizan sus hojas y flores para curar abcesos, reumatismos y dolor de oídos.
