Lantana camara(common lantana) Is a species of flowering plants within the verbena family native to the American tropics.
As an ornametal, l.camara is often cultivated indoors in a conservatory, but can also thrive in garden with sufficient shelter in cooler climates. It has spread from it's native country America to about 50 countries across the world.
L. Camara has become an invasive species. It can outcompete native species leading to a reduction in biodiversity. It can also causes problems if it invades agricultural areas as a result of its toxicity to live stock. Which if left unchecked can greatly reduce the productivity of farmland.
